As you can see I'm still around but that was some heavy stuff last night. I don't know if I felt sadder last night after the final whistle or this morning when I woke up and thoroughly realised it was over.

There is soo much space for the blame game but I don't want to go there now, what's done is done and dust needs to settle down before we draw any conclusions.
Right now I can say that I am proud of our team for getting to WC and I am proud of Besic for his fighting spirit (the young DM who happens to be from my hometown).

Hearing our anthem in a World Cup game will never be forgotten.

Soo, a friend of mine put together a nice review of BiH's (or Susic's ) tactics last night so I'll just roughly translate it. For everyone who's got 2 minutes and is interested, it's a nice read.

On the 06.12.2013. group draw was made for Brazil. To everyone with average football knowledge it was clear that if we beat Nigeria we are through to quarter finals. Other results in the group worked for us so we practically had everything in our hands. What does coach Susic do in such situation ?

In the most important match of football history for BiH, Safet Susic picks a setup in which team never played before. Not just players, but positions as well...

Centerbacks Spahic and Sunjic (!!!) - two players who never played 90 minutes together in a serious football match. On the bench are Kolasinac and Bicakcic, while Zukanovic wasn't even called up. The latter three have on multiple occasions showed they can play better as centrebacks than Sunjic can.

Fullbacks are Mujdza and Lulic. It's their first (!!!) time together in a serious football match. Nothing against Senad, he fought like a lion. He is a great player that needs to be in the first 11 for our team. But why play him as a full back when he never played there for BiH before ? Both Salihovic and Kolasinac could have played there.

Defensive midfielders are Besic and Medunjanin (!!!). It's their first (!!!) match together in the national team. Inexperienced and immobile player in a very sensitive position for our team just cannot be a possibility for fast and hard working Nigeria players in the middle of the pitch.

Pjanic is a world class player that plays as a central midfielder for his club and for country as well in the last couple of matches. In the combination with Besic he looked great. They worked well together and we finally had that player that would enable Miralem to play his game. But, Pjanic was placed as attacking midfielder last night (number 10). Why break down the Besic Pjanic duo and switch positions only Susic knows.

Wingers were Misimovic (!!!) and Hajrovic. In a 4-5-1 formation those are positions that require runners and hard workers. Their role, simply put, is to create extra man in the attack and close down fullbacks in defence - so they have to run quite a lot. Misimovic simply cannot play such a position, he never could. Through the entire match that was obvious on our left side. Combination of Lulic (can but doesn't know how), Medunjanin (not a player with trained defensive duties) and Misimovic (can't because he is not physically capable of) is one of the key factors for the defeat last night. Nigeria took the gift from coach Susic with open arms and not only scored through left side, but also broke through it countlessly.

However, not everything was down to the setup. There was time for corrections as goal was conceded early.

Susic's response were:

- Sub Hajrovic - Ibisevic: Hajrovic was, in my opinion (writer's opinion), our best midfielder last night and I just can't see the reason why he was taken out. Ibisevic on the other side was rightfully introduced, but to which position ? Without Hajrovic we lost the only mobile midfielder. Playing with two static centerforwards without wingers is absurd. Behined CFs were at that time Misimovic, Pjanic and Medunjanin - static trio which couldn't break through 8 Nigerian players that are defending the lead.

- Sub Lulic - Salihovic: You can't take Lulic who played in a wrong position without even trying him in the right position. He was replaced by Salihovic. Salihovic can play well, but why replace one fullback with another fullback that isn't the classic fullback in nature either ? Wasted sub.

- And the last, sub Medunjanin - Susic. To every reader with IQ over 35 can understand this move by coach Susic.

It's not only referee's fault....

The teams drew 0-0 in their game against each other, meaning the only remaining tiebreaker would be a drawing lots - something that has never been used to determine which team advances at a World Cup.

Nothing can be more absurd than drawing lots.At least with looking at FIFA ranking Nigeria would learn not to fix their friendlies!

But FIFA ranking are not very accurate way of coming to conclusion isn't it?

For example 1 team plays half arsed teams in friendles and wins a lot of them and also faces poor teams in qualifiers. England were ranked around 4th till recently which was non sense IMO.

Yeah Drawing lot is more ridiculous when I think about it again, so they should just ask 2 teams to play penalty shoot out.

That's not true, it happened to us in 1990. Biggest bullshit ever seen. It's less than a joke that FIFA degrades itself to such bullshit. Penalties are bad enough as it is, that's already a lottery.

The fucking golden goal should come back, extend the match until one team scores. The only fair fucking solution, oooh but no, FIFA... wouldn't have enough opportunities to fix matches.

I can totally feel it... the vibe is already in the air: Iran beating Bosnia, Argentina doing Iran a favor by beating Nigeria & then we will have true moments of AUWWW!

Iran having a huge moral boost after their game against Argentina, still having a chance to qualify. Bosnia already out so the fucks they give is less than Iran's. Bosnia has never beat Iran, 5 games, 4 win for Iran, 1 draw. That's all good signs right there. :boogy:
