Well it's because he plays in Wolfsburg. He doesn't play im Cl or in a hyped league. He's probably the best lb in the Bundesliga after Alaba and Schmelzer, but to me he seems like a Pereira. 0 Football intelligence, but he can run and cross. If you live in Switzerland, like me, you hear a lot about him. He's praised like one of the best left backs in the world in Switzerland. I don't rate him that high, but I've got to admit he does his job at Wolfsburg and he does it well. I still like naga way more than him, as an example.

I haven't seen him at all outside the world cup games, but you have to remember he's also much younger than Nagatomo. Playing this well at 21 is hard for a fullback, although the Bundesliga seems like the place to do it (Alaba, Carvajal, now Rodriguez, even Donati to a lesser extent).
