I think it's not as bad as it looked. I personally feel a yellow would have made more sense.

He could have gotten away with a yellow, but he studded a player's knee/leg right in front of the ref. Dumb is all I can say.

Prandelli steps down as manager. Good decision. I honestly think he's done a very mediocre job. That Germany game has blinded the opinion towards both him and Balotelli.

Still way better than we are having right now.

Everything he's done with Italia has been a reflection what Juve was trying to do anyway (tactically), I wouldn't be surprised if Cunte gave him tips from time to time.

I don't even know who would be a better replacement. Those rumours of Cunte leaving Juve to manage Italy still scares me.

FIGC want him to withdraw his resignation.

Good of Prandelli to take responsibility, but I think FIGC are right to ask him to withdraw his resignation.

Yes, Italy went out mostly because of his tactical errors, but he also done a lot of good work rebuilding this side from the disaster that was 2010 which came from years of neglecting youth development. He is good at managing young talent, and one of those rare Italian coaches who are not scared to give kids a shot. He has managed to mask the general lack of talent in Italian football. I think he should continue, he is good for Italy...

Maybe we have ussed the Friendly match to test players, and not to win. Maybe weve unlucky in the 2012 final against Spain. Maybe, Maybe. But! All i see is that we are again out from the WC thanks to a miserable match against Costa Rica+Uruguay. I dont like how they play, they can do much more than passing the whole game. We dont had shoot on target this game. How ridicioulus is this? Prandelli, go home.

That's complete bullshit. He masked the lack of talent by playing Parolo over Cerci, and bringing Cassano over Rossi.

Italy does not lack individual quality. They may not be on the level of Spain, but certainly do not lack it.

What they lack is a proper rigid system, a proper identity on the field, and not tactical mingling every 2 games. He went into this tournament with no clue regarding the formations or tactics he was gonna throw on.

In Euro 2012, he just fed off the work and core that Conte had build. When Juve started getting more shaky defensively Italy did too.

It would have made sense to bring in Cassano to replace Balotelli, or Cerci, or even Insigne.

But no, he had to win the midfield by playing 361.

I don't know what's his obsession with winning the midfield, honestly. He wasn't like that at all with Viola.

He must be Spanish in disguise. Wait, that explains everything now, including Euros 2012 final.

Exactly.

In Europe, dominating central midfields is what wins you tournaments, that's why Spain and Italy made the finals.

In South America, even to my own surprise, central midfields have made almost no difference at all. Counterattacking teams are thriving.

It is a mistake to emulate Spanish football, at its fall.

Now whenever Italy finds an opponent team with hardworking and high pressing strikers, they struggle.

Perhaps Prandelli's resignation is good, start over, and give up on this slow pathetic football that can't create any goal scoring opportunities.

I agree with you. Imo, he has been a good coach for Italy in general excluding the recent fuck ups.

I'd take Prandelli in a second.

Had to log in just to reply this. Cesare would be a good pick, Mazarri with his Behrami Zuniga & overall old Napoli love is getting out of hand, moreover:

Rafa, Conte, R.Garcia, Montella, Inzaghi all top 4 are locked in their jobs

I would love Prandelli to take over !

I would love Pranfailli here too.

At least if we lose we get to use the Barca excuses.
