Respect to Algeria, must say...They weren't nearly the rubbish/dirty side that advanced past Egypt in the playoff...They went at each side they faced and ultimately were both a bit unlucky and slightly undermanned...I left impressed with them

Punching Dempsey, taking out Jozy, and jumping on the ball while Dempsey was setting up the free kick in a couple of minutes? Screaming in the refs ear and then almost punching him? I'd say they're still pretty dirty. BUT, WHO CARES USAUSAUSA FCBARCA I WANT TO GIVE YOU A HUG

In all fairness, I missed a good stretch of the 2nd half so I think I missed those shenanigans...Don't get me wrong, I've seen Algeria as a very dirty side that would make even the Greeks blush...I just didn't see it for the parts I did watch.

Very happy for the US, very happy for US football and the WC...ESPN, who I find largely crap, have had an outstanding coverage of the games too...Save Jurgen & Lalas

Disappointed that England go through but thanks USA! Your goal means England's run will look like - Germany, Argentina, Spain - they won't get through the first of that. Hopefully it works out like that now...

US deserve this,in fact anything but topping this group would be unfair to them cuz that goal against Slovenia should have stood.

Definitely...There are mental hurdles I think this NT still needed to overcome and this sort of victory will surely help when they encounter the next one...I continue to question Bradley's tactical accumen though...How does a US side not give someone like Donovan more touches that late in the match?

Best thing about this, living in the US, is that the win will give the WC another boost which is a win-win, for me...Plus, the US certainly have the talent to go a bit further still

Personally, I don't hate them but I don't rate them either...I do hate the way their media, fans, pundits etc. think the sun rises & sets with English football, however.

I do think this is what could push soccer in the US over that last hump. You could tell that people were really getting interested in it after the Slovenia game. Now no one can deny that soccer is exciting, and they have a loveable team to root for. A deep run would be amazing.

The key now is for MLS to run with to momentum. Thierry Henry in New York and Beckham will be back. If they have good seasons, I think soccer could really grow.

Bit ? They are capable to go all the way :)

Yeah, I wouldn't even come close to saying that...Of the remaining contending sides in the WC, I'd rate these ahead of the US - easily

Spain, Brasil, Argentina, Holland, Germany, Portugal, Uruguay, Chile & even El Tri

Read some rhetoric from Becks trying to lure Ronnie to the Galaxy too...Would love to see that, he'd dominate in the MLS

Geez...this is why I get into arguments with people at home. You beat Algeria on a last second goal and draw Slovenia and suddenly think you can win the World Cup??

You better pray that Ghana gets second in that group because Serbia and Germany are 10x better than Slovenia and Algeria...

Knock it off...whatever problem you have with Greece and Greeks, keep it inside.

You're clearly biased on this and there's nothing different you can say in reply that will be the truth.

So Veron is allowed to push 3 Greek players, yet the Greeks are dirty, for pulling Messi's hand and immediately accepting the yellow card, being fouled 3 times by hard tackles and instead of been given a foul, Argentina was awarded the foul...Greeks were DIRTY for 3-4 bad tackles that happen in most games???

Man get serious and cut the crap

Nothing really...They came into the tournament with a rep for being dirty but they played much better than I expected...They were in every one of their 3 matches and ultimately were a bit unlucky...Ziani is a class player, btw
