Looking forward to another clash between Germany and Poland. Both of them were opponents in the qualification games and there we go again. Ukraine has a very good team as well. They've been impressive in the play-off against Slovenia.

My predictions for one of Poland/Ukraine alongside Germany to go through this group.

Before the last WC, my Dad predicted Germany would win the '14 and '18 WCs and '16 Euros. I feel the need to post this here as I must say, I like his chances of being right.

Well they've always and will always be contenders for international tournaments, but imo they haven't looked as good as they were in the world cup. They are still miles ahead of anyone else in Europe though.

But please let it be anyone but Spain.

Don't think Germany will win. Think France might actually take it, or Italy somehow

It's hard to predict this one, there's no real stand out and plenty of teams are close to each other level-wise, at least that's how I see it. Home soil has always been a massive factor in national tournaments so if I had to I'd probably go with France.

Who does the bookies have as favourites?

I'd say that England might surprise us. No idea why, just a feeling.

I would also count Belgium. Such a great squad they have.

Nah bro, Belgium will be the flop of the tournament. The coach has no tactical clue. A walking disaster like Mancini

Aside from England's attacking options (which look pretty lethal) the rest of the team is meh.. Belgium and Croatia are the dark horses to me.

I don't see Croatia winning unless they play counter (which doesn't seem to be the case). No top defenders and forwards. A bit of a waste considering they have the best central midfield in the world. Belgium is more well rounded, and could go all the way, but Hazard has been pretty garbage, and he's supposed to be their star. I think dark horse is a proper epithet. Maybe KDB will step up.

Like for the last 4 tournaments, Spain and Germany are massive favourites. I wouldn't rule out Italy and England doing well despite their shitty squads, because they play with confidence.

Even if Hazard falls out of form (again), Belgium has multiple options at LW (Mertens, Carassco). I consider Belgium, France, Spain, and Germany the four favourites.

England is interesting because they played quality football in qualifying. Unlike previous years, Rooney isn't coming to a competition following a season of dragging United through a domestic and European competition, so he could be fresher.

Agreed on Croatia; dangerous, but vulnerable.

Marco Reus has been left out again as he has groin problems. Feel sorry for him as the same thing happened just before the 2014 World Cup

Jesus man. At this rate we'll never see him in his prime for Germany at a major tournament. He'll be 29 next World Cup, that's really his last chance to impress (while in his prime) at an international tournament. Sad.

Hoping for a stirring rendition of Will Grigg's on fire during todays game

Northern Irish defence is a mess, only thing they have going for them is their willingness to take a kick and stick in a last ditch tackle

Unlucky NI but it has been coming
