I think We have decent enough players, not world class, but that is were the coach comes in to give the team an identity/foundation. Spalletti has not done that, and it looks like he never will.

If we were to go by talent, so many teams should have won at different times.
We don't have decent forwards though, and I am not even talking about goal threats; like we don't even have someone that is good enough to pin the CBs a bit further back to create space, or to pivot or hold up, basically anyway in helping the team as a forward.

That will be their biggest struggle.

All the Inter folks did well though in my eyes plus the GK.

lol Di Lorenzo playing the whole game... Should not see the pitch ever again for Italy... Same for that retard Cristante.... Croatia is gonna defeat them, if they pussy up once again.
Croatia was just as shit truth be told, likely going to be a very different match

Calafiori was not decent, he's not in sync with Dimarco, goes high up often, Spalleti switches side him with Bastoni late in game too late

And then we wonder why Jorginho still starts for Italy. That's why.
there are players that are not part of the team that are better than those 2 jokers... Spalletti is also an average coach, so can't really expect much from him. Same shit as Pioli would be the coach.

Croatia actually came to play vs Spain and created some chances... Italy came not to lose by more than 2 goals... Pathetic display and I hope Croatia beats them.

The only positive thing is italy "only needs" a draw against Croatia but if they play like how they played today they can start praying that they are the best 3rd place
I'm still trying to figure out how concerned I am tbh. A loss to Spain was always likely, but I really thought we could snatch a point tonight.

Croatia's record against Italy is seriously impressive, but they haven't looked good at all so far.

The only change I'm expecting against Croatia is a proper winger starting over Frattesi.

Spain looked deadly of course. But this was also the weakest and most inaccurate Italia I've ever seen.

Still 0 Spaniards managed to score vs this Italian side, despite 26 shots. Raises some eyebrows.

Donnarumma MOTM.

As bad as Italia was, losing 1-0, thanks to Donnaruma and occasionally to Bastoni, Italy must perform much better against Croatia.

Still baffles me this Italy side doesn’t play 3-5-2

As a long time Inter fan you should remember Spalletti hates playing with two forwards. He would rather play Lautaro as a #10 than play him alongside Icardi. The only time i remember him playing with two forwards is a match against Bologna out of desperation because he was on the verge of getting fired. He played Karamoh alongside Icardi, it actually worked (!) and yet he switched back to 4-2-3-1 in the next match!

If Spalletti switches to back 3 it will be 3-4-3.

I mean I still have PTSD from 2002 world cup but aside from that its been all draw so I just hope italy can at least get a draw.

imagine not playing Bastoni - Buongiorno - Darmian at the back... Bastoni is pretty much useless in this formation and then he even moves him away from Dimarco... Genius.
