Right, but Jorginho has been scandalous for a while now. He's playing like shite for Arsenal as well.

How is he still part of a project, is beyond explanation.
The problem for Italy is lack of better alternatives, one look at the starting 11 shows it’s one mediocre bunch… Barella, Donna and Bastoni are helpless with the sort of training cones they have as teammates

Di Lorenzo is lost, it’s not even a surprise even a cone would do a better job.. He needs to be taken out in the break and the team needs to close down better and not allowing so much space between them

What the fuck did Frattesi do? He's been just as bad as Jorginho, misplacing simple passes. Just to further show why he's not getting real minutes from Inzaghi.

Donnaruma is the only one playing so far. Spalletti has alot to talk about in the dressing room.

Well, at it's still 0-0, and Bastoni and Barella haven't been severely injured.

Let's hope this first half break will do good to Italia.

Spallo needs to make a couple of changes right away. Maybe even switch the scheme, because Darmian instead of Di Lorenzo isn't gonna solve anything while midfield collapsed and attack looks inexistent.

Most of these players have experienced 352 in their teams, maybe giving it a try would turn to be a good idea. Let's see...

Italy looked lunch drunk. Completely lost composure on the ball and it’s hard to blame them because they could never build confidence.

Frattesi and Di Lorenzo need to come out of this game. Frattesi simply can’t control a ball to save his life under pressure. If your team is dominant he’s a great secondary runner in the box to finish chances but in games like this he’s useless. That’s why he isn’t a start here.

Di Lorenzo just isn’t athletic enough to deal with Nico Williams at all. He is getting cooked every chance Nico gets to run at him.

I would swap Cambiaso in for Frattesi and push Chiesa centrally. Drop Pellegrini and play a 3-5-2. You could also bring Darmian on but I honestly don’t know if he does any better than Di Lorenzo.

I'm not nearly as worried as you guys. This is what games against Spain look like. I've counted one genuine chance. The rest are a bunch of half chances and long shots. It reminds me a lot of the semi final in 2021.

The problem is we've done nothing on the counter. I would take Pellegrini off for Raspadori to inject some pace into the counters. Scamacca isn't playing well but you need his style of play for this game. Retegui can't relieve pressure the way Scamacca does.

Di Lorenzo is finished.

Yep complete trash those three, pelegrini invisible as well. Italy just lacks quality, it's that simple.

Frattesi has to do better as well, he can't just be a goal threat in the box and constantly run towards open spaces, cos that's his whole repertoire as a midfielder. It's not enough if he wants to be a starting mid in a high level team.

Italy poor first half, Spain really failing to capatilize on their best chances at 9th and 25th. Spalletti needs to change something, jorginho and di lorenzo I do not support and their presence is just iritating now. This team can be beaten come on.

Once again against spain, an italian coach failing tactics wise. Why do they just let spain play I do not understand. Spalletti kind of proving to me that he was hired because of "muh napoli scudetto" (the one they get every 70 years).

I agree 100% spain isn't really that much more impressive imo. We just need better organization, which starts with spalletti unf****** his s***. The usual italian coach messing up tactics against spain

Yeah, excellent point. I think he started Jorginho because he wanted to try and dictate tempo. The problem is, when you fail to do so, now you have a poor defender and useless counter attacking footballer in your eleven.

Fagioli might be the move.
