All the talk is Musiala and Wirtz, and I lead those conversations, but Pavlovic is also a burgeoning superstar in the Bundesliga and for the national team. I love watching him play. Incredible goal yesterday.

Pavlovic got lots of playing time in the second round of last season and he impressed so much that he was called up to the national team (before getting injured) and he's gonna be one of the main midfield guys for Bayern next season.

😉

As i had said, it was too early to judge Bayern as they hadn't faced a serious opponent so far. Kompany ball failed in the first serious tests, against Leverkusen and Aston Villa.

Now they're going to Frankfurt who are in great form so far. It's gonna be an interesting game.

Leverkusen throw away yet another 2-0 lead and are held to a home draw against newly promoted Holstein Kiel. Ridiculous result. They only conceded 24 goals the Bundesliga last season, they're already halfway there this season and it's only been six games.

Dortmund with another poor away result, Union 2-1 in Köpenick. Sahin may come good in time, I'm not writing the book on his managerial career, but for all the talk since January that his arrival on the bench was him being the real mastermind and not Terzic, early returns as the manager haven't been great. Winless in three away games with a 2:7 goal ratio against. For their part, after last season's horror-show run to begin the season, Union in much better position so far with 11 points through six games.

Leverkusen show the typical signs of a team that is struggling to keep up with both league and CL. They dropped points against Leipzig and Kiel in games they were dominating and they had a comfortable lead. I fear they won't be able to keep up with Bayern this year. Especially since it doesn't seem like they're gonna have an early exit in CL.

Re Dortmund, i agree about Sahin. Since last January the narrative was Sahin and Bender came in January and saved the season, that they were behind Dortmund's improved form in second round and particularly Sahin was responsible for Dortmund's attacking game. But the showing is really poor this season. They have yet to win a match away and even at home they have struggled. Scoreline against Frankfurt isn't representative of a match that could have gone either way and even against Heidenheim and Bochum they struggled a lot. Sahin is inexperienced, he needs time to implement his system, since they decided to hire him they need to support him bla bla bla. I get all that. But so far he shows he's unable to set up a defence. Dortmund goal difference is just +1. It's great and all to say that Dortmund is a big club that should play possession football instead of sitting back and defend but you also need to have the personnel to do it.

Let's hope Leipzig win tomorrow and put some pressure to Bayern before their match at Waldstadion.

There was a similar case in CL between Arsenal and Bayern. But in there ref didn't give a penalty because it was a "kid's mistake"

3 games without a victory for Bayern (against tougher opposition aswell).
Kompany was being hailed as the 2nd coming when he started with Bayern, but now there is a 'mini-crisis' because of those 3 games without a victory. And to be honest, I'm not surprised by this at all.

Bayern had a 'good news' show, just like how Kompany is in public - but this won't last. Bayern will score a gazillion goals against some average to below average sides, Kompany will be put on a pedestal again (probably a way of cognitive dissonance by Bayern and their fans, as Kompany was like the last choice) - and then the same circle will repeat itself once Bayern plays against quality opposition - Kompany's lack of skill as a manager will be exposed, again and again.......and again -

Kompany is lucky Leverkusen are struggling, Dortmund seem lost and no one sees Leipzig as a serious contender. So for now there are only praises for Kompany by Bayern and their media. They only focus on the chances Bayern create and their narrative is all is good, he is doing much better than Tuchel, they're just unlucky to concede at opponent's first chance and there's nothing to worry about. But if the trend continues questions will be asked about Kompany and his poor defensive setup.

I am not surprised he returned. He was also talking about a break after Dortmund and few months later he was hired by Liverpool. It was only a matter of time. I just would have never thought he would end up at RB out of all organizations considering their reception in Germany.

I don't know what's worse. Klopp working for RasenBallsport or calling football soccer. Like Germans would say, "Seele verkauft".

Biggest surprise to me is that he is not returning as a head coach.. Also my best guess is that RB offred a huuge amount of money and he considers it a chill gig as again he wont be coaching.

Klopp has one clause in his contract and its Germany head coach at any opportunity.

I know you're just relaying narratives being shared, because when I see what happened on Sunday in Frankfurt I'm seeing "played with an extremely high line, didn't win 50/50 balls, didn't have central passing lanes being closed down, got beat in transition with pace" and I don't see the goals being scored on the ends of those as being anything befitting poor luck on Bayern's part. Especially the third goal, giving up an equalizer in stoppage time in transition is completely inexcusable.

I'm not complaining because the Bundesliga is a scoring gallery right now so the games are fun. Marmoush in particular is having the time of his life running into space and scoring these goals, I'm just gonna hope he doesn't prove to be another one of those Bundesliga scoring merchants a la Timo Werner who struggles when playing against more compact opponents.

Agreed about the match in Frankfurt and Kompany tactics of course. It was so obvious Kompany's style was eventually going to cost Bayern even from the period that they were dismantling opponents. But Bayern propaganda machine is working at full force and Kompany and Bayern are still in their honeymoon period. German media prefer to focus on other things like players are having fun again playing for Bayern compared to Tuchel period, Kompany's set of rules, Guardiola's positive opinion about him and of course Thomas Muller appreciation for the new boss. Everything appears rosy in München. :D

Even Bayern's most anticipated signing, Joao Palhinha, being a flop so far (another EPL highly rated midfielder who's struggling in a "farmers league") has gone under the radar. But this won't last for long as Kompany has no intention to adjust his tactics. He said so himself. So things are gonna be interesting this season.

Re Marmoush, as much as i would like to see him as the next exciting forward coming from the league or even giving the credit to Dino Toppmöller (who has done an amazing job at Frankfurt mind you) for his transformation from average to a prolific scorer he's just another succcess story of Eintracht. Like Kolo Mouani, Luka Jovic and Sebastian Haller before him. This club just has the ability to turn what they touch into gold. So i wouldn't go anywhere near Marmoush. I have yet to see a former Eintracht player replicating his success elsewhere. They're similar to Atalanta in a way. So i am enjoying it while it lasts.

It's really impressive what they do in Frankfurt. They have lost players, coaches, sporting directors and they still find ways to stay competitive. Personally i thought this was it for them in two occassions. When they sold the magic trio of Rebic, Jovic and Haller in the same summer and when they lost Freddy Bobic to Hertha. But no. They're still there. They played in CL, they brought a European title to Frankfurt, they have always been in thereabouts for European places and as usual they have been one of the most entertaining teams in Bundesliga.

And since you mention Werner i will say he's more a Nagelsmann merchant than a Bundesliga merchant. His return to Leipzig was a massive disappointment.

^Ofcourse the Belgian media pick this up - and then another snowball effect starts on how 'great' Kompany is.
Beautiful example of cognitive dissonance -

I've never seen this type of propoganda happen to any Inter player or manager. Or maybe did I overlook someone/something? :)

There was debate within the club's higher-ups over Vincent Kompany's risky style of play, particularly in the big international games. They're saying that things cannot continue like this. Max Eberl, meanwhile, is defending Kompany as he was the one that brought him in - Bild

Honeymoon is over at FC Bayern 🤭
