nah.

anyways, the competitiveness of the league at the top is fucking terrible but bundesliga teams usually play interesting football. i'm looking forward to see the red bull project on a bigger stage than lower german divisions and the austrian league.

It will be interesting to see how the new youngsters in the league from RB Leipzig will do it as you say Bandiera but as well in terms of the signings of Renato Sanches in Bayern, Dembele in Dortmund and Embolo in Schalke. The league has in general a lot of young talent which seems to be something the clubs are aware of and something they want to keep on practicing. Italy could learn a lot from this.

Dortmund has had a great transferperiod this time with the signings of Mario Götze, André Schürrle, Sebastian Rode, Raphael Guerreiro, Marc Bartra, Emre Mor and Ousmane Dembélé. Two great talents in Dembélé and Mor, and experienced but still pretty young German international players in Götze, Schürrle and Rode.

Aubameyang (Ramos)

Reus (Dembélé) - Götze (Kagawa/Pulisic) - Schürrle (Emre Mor/Blaszczykowski)

Nuri Sahin (Castro/Leitner) - Weigl (Rode/Merino)

Guerreiro (Schmelzer/Park) - Sokratis (Bartra/Subotic) - Bender (Ginter) - Piszczek (Durm)

Bürki (Weidenfeller)

What a team if they manage to keep Aubameyang :fap:

not even mentioning what will happen if they really get gomez as rumored

this season the bundesliga will be competitive as fuck.

bayern having an insane squad as usual, dortmund managed to compensate the sales perfectly, schalke got a great coach and sport director, leverkusen will yet again be the most exciting team to watch thanks to schmidt... if they manage to stay fit this year, i see a fair chance to get the title.

gladbach, mainz, hertha, hoffenheim (youngest coach in top 5 leagues - 29 years), leipzig, hamburg, and wolfsburg also have interesting squads.

It will take time for Schalke to get back on track as they didn't perform badly solely because of the behavior of some of their players but as well due to the complete lack of knowledge in the management department of the club. They have made the necessary changes but it takes time to build up a winning culture and to find the right overall philosophy for the club. It is the same in HSV which finally seemed to do alright last season and now it seems to be Wolfsburgs turn to underperform. I wouldn't be surprised if Wolfsburg ends out of the top 10.

The second Bundesliga is going to be just as competitive and with even more supporters on the stands due to the addition of Stuttgart, Hannover and Dynamo Dresden which are all well followed. The league had an average attendance of 19.176 last season which I'm sure will be even higher this time and perhaps even equal the number for Serie A last season which was 22.199. It is amazing that a second division league is that well followed.

Given Ancelotti's reputation as more of a cup specialist than a league dominator, I'll actually look forward to the Bundesliga this season. While it's more than likely that Bayern will grab the league, especially with quality signings like Sanches and Hummels, other clubs have strengthened their squads significantly as well. This is going to be a firecracker, unlike our Serie A which looks like it'll go to JuBe again... and Suning isn't doing jackshit which pisses me off.

im interested in how much playing time dembele will get after the additions of schürrle and götze. dortmunds offensive depth is insane.

i agree with your jrg, wolfsburg might disappoint, especially if they dont reinforce themselves... mayoral is a nice talent, but nobody who can set the world on fire immediately. they need a good right winger as vierinha is rather a right back, and a striker (zaza would be perfect).
didavi will also be a threat, he is one of the best free transfers this summer.

second league will be very interesting, vfb already sold over 30.000 season tickets.
the most exciting match though will be in the first round of german cup; dynamo dresden at home against rb leipzig

... and Götze and Schürrle find their form.

I'm tired of reading posts around on the internet about Schürrle being in a bad form as he scored 9 goals in 29 matches mainly as a winger for a team which underperformed badly last season. His season was statistic wise as good as those he had in Leverkusen and Mainz which for me indicates that he wasn't that shite.

Götze is a different story.

Dortmund has paid around 75M€ for Schürrle, Götze, Dembélé and Rode meanwhile Juventus seems to pay 90M€ for Higuain.

BVB is doing great once again.

Didn't he only score in the last third of the season against teams fighting relegation? So he had one good half season in the last two years.

It makes no sense to talk about a season for more than a year ago when discussing the current form of a specific player as 12 months are a long time. Wolfsburg was as said shit last season and I wouldn't demand a wingplayer like Schürrle to do any better than what he did. Of course was most of his goals scored against teams fighting relegation as it doesn't make any sense to talk about Wolfsburg performing badly if they had scored the necessary goals against the better teams as they then had won those matches.

The fact that he did score most of his goals in the last part of the season is by the way a bit contradictory when one claims he is in a bad form at this moment.

However I do agree that he has performed better in some parts of his career but it is not as bad as it is for example for Götze which may have a hard time fighting for his spot against Kagawa.

Okay, then say it this way: Since he left Leverkusen 2013 he hasn't performed the way that his price tags are justified. He's now Dortmunds most expensive buy ever and so far only Bayern and Wolfsburg paid more for a player. And that for a guy who has one good half year in the last three seasons.

If he doesn't find his Leverkusen form his price tag isn't justified because and I don't consider him as a good buy or a reinforcement for Dortmund after the sells.

Look at the price tags for this summers window. Is Higuain worth €93M? Pogba €120M? The prices are at the moment way out of reasoning.

We are talking about a 25 yo international German footballer with 55 caps and who did alright last season. €30M is a great price when looking at the price tags for other players on the market. You don't get 55 caps for a successful and talented German national team if you aren't performing well over a longer period.

These are the most expensive players bought by Bayern München according to Transfermarkt:

Javi Martínez (40,00 Mill. €)
Mats Hummels (38,00 Mill. €)
Arturo Vidal (37,00 Mill. €)
Mario Götze (37,00 Mill. €)
Renato Sanches (35,00 Mill. €)
Douglas Costa (30,00 Mill. €)
Manuel Neuer (30,00 Mill. €)
Mario Gómez (30,00 Mill. €)

He would have been tied with Costa, Neuer and Gomez if they had bought him and not as their second most expensive player like you wrote.

Yeah, but paying 94m for Higauin is pretty stupid. Just because some teams go crazy with transfer fees doesn't mean that 30m+ isn't very much for a player.

You don't get 55 caps for a successful and talented German national team if you aren't performing well over a longer period.

Since 2013 he had about 30 caps and I don't remember him playing an important role after the WC 2014. And for exemple: Even Podolski had about 20 games for the German NT since then.

These are the most expensive players bought by Bayern München according to Transfermarkt:

Javi Martínez (40,00 Mill. €)
Mats Hummels (38,00 Mill. €)

I only said that Bayern and Wolfburg paid more for a player so far and that he is the record transfer for Dortmund. Bayern bought some players more expensive and then there is Wolfsburg who paid more for Draxler last season and for Schürrle two seasons ago.

The transfer fees are in general way too high this transfer window which makes the fee for this transfer pretty normal now.

Podolski has almost always been great for the national team which makes it understandable why he has played the amount of games for them as he has. Schürrle was important in the WC 2014 final and has had other great moments for his NT.

The prices for footballer has rised every single season for the past 15 seasons or more. Of course would Dortmunds record transfer fee be broken some day. We are talking about a market which means the price they have paid for Schürrles services is affected by different circumstances due to other transfers such as TV-money in England and a general trend of transfer fees becoming higher and higher for each season.

Lets agree to disagree then as I feel we keep on talking about the same.

The 30 year old striker Marco Sailer has decided to join a 4th division team after his contract wasn't renewed with the Bundesliga club Darmstadt. He played 14 matches for the team last season and managed to score a single goal which apparently wasn't enough for him to stay hungry for new challenges at the top level.

Why do I mention this guy when he wasn't one of the best in the league? THIS:

Power of the beard. I will sadly not be able to watch this epic beard again in a football match. We definitely need charismatic footballers today which he is.

An another player has moved to the first division this season which will be interesting to follow. The guy is the 28 year old striker Justin Eilers. A semi-professional footballer in which nobody had heard about him until for two years ago when he transfered to Dynamo Dresden in the third division but two great seasons for them made Werder Bremen sign him for this season. Will it be a similar story to Vardy. We will see.
