Samir Handanovic – 6
A comfortable evening for the Inter custodian, with his only real test coming in the 75th minute from Luca Siligardi, and was probably expected given Hellas Verona are yet to win in Serie A this term.
Davide Santon – 6
With little attacking threat defend against, Santon was able to press forward at will for the Nerazzurri, however, the Italian needs to provide better service for striker Mauro Icardi.
Gary Medel – 6.5
Another determined display at the heart of the Nerazzurri defence for the Chile international, but that enthusiasm could have cost his side had the referee spotted his foul on Juanito Gomez in the penalty area.
Miranda – 6
Little action for the Brazilian to get involved in, which will have been welcome during his recovery from injury, but the 31-year-old organised the defensive line well as the visitors pushed for a late equaliser.
Alex Telles – 6.5
The full-back was beaten too easily by Jacopo Sala early on and misjudged the cross that led to the midfielder later striking the crossbar, but improved greatly and did redeem himself with a wonderful delivery for the goal.
Fredy Guarin – 5
In the third minute the Colombian hesitated, was dispossessed and then booked when attempted to recover the ball. From that moment his night did not get any better with some poor distribution, particularly when wasting an opportunity to gift Ivan Perisic a first Inter goal.
Felipe Melo – 7
Rarely needed for his destructive attributes, the Brazilian excelled in setting the tempo and pinning Hellas Verona into their own half, and that it was the 32-year-old who got the crucial goal was fitting given his performance on the night.
Geoffrey Kondogbia – 5
Not the finest display from the Frenchman, and an overzealous challenge saw him pick up a first booking in an Inter shirt.
Ivan Perisic – 6
Constantly looking to find a crucial opening for the Nerazzurri, Perisic was unlucky not to open his Inter account when Rafael made an impressive low save on 64 minutes to deny the Croatian.
Adem Ljajic – 5.5
After driving a freekick straight at the Verona wall on 10 minutes, the Serbian attacker failed to make a significant impact on the match, offering very little as the Nerazzurri attempted to break down a resolute defence.
Mauro Icardi – 6
Despite a single headed effort midway through the first-half, the Inter captain had a quiet night in Milan, as the Hellas Verona defensive trio restricted the effectiveness of last terms top goalscorer.
Substitutes
Stevan Jovetic – 6
Stripped and ready for action just as Melo was giving Inter the lead, the 25-year-old entered the game like a man possessed, as he tried to provide some creative spark. However, despite his best efforts he couldn’t quite find his match-winning form of previous weeks.
Jonathan Biabiany – 6
After making just one Serie A appearance for Parma last season the Frenchman will have been happy to have been back on the pitch, but his contribution was limited to collecting a late booking.
Andrea Ranocchia – N/A
