It was a bad call and they admitted it. But then again it’s Italy so corrupt refereeing is the way of life
So the VAR missed it as well? Or is it that they called it before the ball went in that it couldn't be checked?

Either way, what clusterfuck.

If Inter agreed to renew Darmian and DDA, we better do the same with him PDQ.

that doesn't make sense, if it's such a big thing, VAR should intervene
I know, but he called the foul on gagliardini and that’s not reviewable by var.

Yes because it was called before the ball went to the net so there was nothing to be VARed. VAR can be used only for goals, penalties, red cards.

That's why it's super important to let the play go on despite something perhaps happening, SPECIALLY in box scrums since there are always something happening. Better to check it later because you have tools for that as a ref. It's been there for fucking 5 years or something and still this fucken cunt had to call early.

We are very good in spotting the old stopgaps who defies expectation and turns out to be useful players. Acerbi, Darmian, Mhiki, Dzeko are the examples. The main problem is spending as prudently for the main core of the team and not wasting the money for cretins like Correa and Lukaku.

This guy had 9 passes the whole game. Still pocketed Giroud.

He was always too slow but I think he's very ideal for the central position in our current setup. Problem is Skriniar has been underperforming because he's now responsible of a greater area defensively but I think he has the tools to adapt. Hopefully Bastoni becomes a better defender from his experience with him.

I think we can get two more seasons from him, one as a starter and one as a useful rotational player.

In a vacuum, it's totally fine. Acerbi has played well and deserves to stay. In an ideal world he would be redeemed for a nominal fee and stay at the club to provide experience as a reliable backup option.

However, when you look at the wider context the whole thing is fucked up.

At this point, Acerbi is a starter ahead of that absolute wimp de Vrij. To be real though, Acerbi should be a backup or rotation at best for any serious top side. Absurdly, despite being benched by Acerbi, who himself should be a bench player, we're still trying to renew de Vrij.

When you consider Acerbi's transfer fee, plus his and de Vrij's wages, it's a significant amount of money being spent on two defenders, neither of whom should be a starter - all the while losing an actual starter and our best defender for free.

It's just ridiculously bad business.

He, Darmian, Mkhi, and Dzeko are our backbone this season. This is very bad because we can't depend on old guy everytime.

I look at how he plays, how he behaves on the field, and it seems to me that he looks more like a Juventus player. He lacks technique and agility, but he knows how to microfoul to avoid bookings and still not let the opponent get past the defense. With his "calma calma" gestures he would fit right in with juventus backline.
