This motherfucker needs to get healthy. I think him and SDV are similar in terms of defensive ability but he keeps the back line in WAY better shape and stability. We never concede like this w Acerbi.
We were just as bad vs bbilan. Sommer just had a great night.

We need to upgrade the CCD urgently.

Wont matter much when players like Dumfries keeps getting nutmegged. How many times did players pass/shoot/dribble between his legs tonight? 4-5?

While you can see Darmian was solid defensively when he came on. This is Atletico 2.0, makes me wonder if we could have salvaged the lead had he not been injured. Darmian probably would have subbed in Pavard and Augusto for Dimarco.

Yeah, maybe Darmian can cover the RCB better, but for now we need him to cover the LWB role.

Anyway, it would be better if Acerbi came back soon, technically he may not be much different from De Vrij, but we need his mentality for the kind of games we played tonight.

We need a commanding centre-back, a leader in defence who keeps shouting at the team to stay focused. It's like having a coach on the pitch.

Grande Acerbi, when he's in shape our defence is rock solid.

That means de Vrij is out, I'd imagine.

Probably makes sense for their departures to be staggered by a year. I'm hoping (but not expecting) Oaktree won't skimp here, if there's a chance at Tah then don't allow the "he's almost 30, he's old" nonsense to pop up. 1) it makes me feel fucking ancient, 2) it's idiotic.

Ideally you offload both and you sign an experienced cb and a young prospect. But there's no money for that.

If i had to choose one of them to stay, it would definitely be Acerbi. Despite being older and in rapid decline, he remains more reliable than De Vrij and he earns significantly less. De Vrij earns a top cb salary and he hasn't been at top level for a while.

Signing two new CBs was never a real option.

Btw there was different reports about Acerbi salary but the latest I've seen is he would earn only like 1.5M which doesn't make any sense to me. He's a starter at Inter, how shit is his agent? Doesn't add up.

Probably back to Holland.

Il Drago does make a good point, it was always De Vrij who was leaving.

Getting Tah would be great, it's not unrealistic, the problem is that there are other clubs that will offer more (Bayern, Real)

So Acerbi will 38, Mhki 37 and Darmian 36 when they leave the club.

Stuff like this only happens at Inter :ROFLMAO:

Hopefully their salaries have been massively decreased for the final year.

You are right, there's not many teams in the world who can properly utilize 36 year olds.
