I've started last week with a journey in the Serie C with Arezzo. With the clubs I usually choose (Ajax, Inter) I normally stop after 3/5 years because I'm winning everything and had some unbeaten seasons. So I wanted to try something new, some challenge and my god did I get it. Allmost no money to invest in the club or in my squad so it's mostly getting free players or loan them. The upside of playing with Arezzo is that they have some partnership with Fiorentina and Inter so it's easy to sign youth players or loan some players from them(if they want to come). I'm now halfway through the season and I'm leading the Serie B together with Citadella, got beaten in the Coppa Italia by Sampdoria.

But I was wondering, do we really have some sort of partnership with Arezzo and if not why do we have that in the game itself? Was hoping someone could tell me more about this.

What I like to do to prevent the game for being monotonous is to change teams as soon as it gets too easy.
This year I played with Académica in the Portuguese league with the goal to get promoted and be champion in the next seasons, I did it in 5 seasons iirc, then moved on to Nott Forest (still in the championship) they had a decent team since they´ve been fighting for promotion before, won the league and am now on the 3rd season with them fighting for the CL spots.

Here's a WIP on that Online Manager thing I posted about couple months ago. Decided to pick it up again since there's nothing else to do in quarantine. Has a working backend and all that.

Meant to be a mix of FIFA's Ultimate Team & Football Manager.

Working a little on the match engine now (player movement, raycasting, chasing ball and dribbling):

Hi, what formation and playing style do you use? Also what is the role for the striker? I tried 4 3 3 dm wide vertical tiki taka but goal from striker is really lacking. Whether it's lukaku (which later i sold), lautaro, or esposito. When i use 5 2 1 2 in first season they both (lukaku and lautaro) both scoring many goals, lukaku even became top scorer.

Sorry brother, didn't see the post. I'm an idiot.

I guess it's too late, but iirc I played with 1 striker AF role, with SS role in AM postion, two wingers (same foot as the side they play on), 2 wing backs, two CMs, I tinkered a lot, looking for what's working for other people all over the internet, but I grew restless and never actually won the CL and stopped playing. Serie A was easy. Positive mentality, high pressing, high defensive line, higher tempo but work ball into the box, which resulted in some quite sweet plays and goals.

After 3,5 years at Arezzo and bringing them to the Serie A I felt I had accomplice everything I could for now. The board didn't want to expand the stadium or build a new one, I had a lot of trouble signing good players because not a lot wanted to come only if I offered tons of money and I didn't thought they were worth it. Then I got an offer from Napoli which ended 7th, 7th and 12th in the Serie A and were now standing on the 14th spot.

I accepted the offer because I thought it would be fun to overhaul the complete squad of Napoli. The only players left from now are Meret, Manolas, Allan and Insigne. I have a transferbudget of 50M and I'm planning on upgrade the youth Academy and within 2 years play with at least 5 youth players from Napels itself and try and get young Italian players. Try to get a new stadium and make Napoli a real contester for the title.

Funny thing was that I played the last match for the winterbreak against Napoli and fuckin Vecino was playing CB with Daley Blind beside him. :D But when I saw who was the previous coach it made sense, Luciano fuckin Spalletti was the guy who bought these kind of players. Target for the remaining season is to get an EL spot, for me personally I want to try and get CL-football because I need the money but it's a new challenge so I'm excited about the project. Oh and Italy beated Germany in the WC Final of 2022, U19 become European Champions in the summer so we have enough talent in Italy to bring Napoli back to the top with only Italian players!

Yesterday I saw this challenge and I'm really liking it:

''Become the first manager in history to win the Copa libertadores and the UEFA Champions League''

1. Starting in South America, lead a team of your choice to Copa Libertadores glory.

2. Move to European shores taking one of your South American players with you.

3. Win the UEFA Champions League with your European side.

Quite a challenge, a very difficult one. I was wondering if someone here ever tried a challenge like this? And if so how was it? Normally I just start with a club I like and try to win trophies with as much own youth players as possible but I think this challenge would be much more fun. I'm thinking of starting with a club in Colombia, if there are people who worked in Colombia and have some hints please share them.

Did it several times, not so hard if you start with a Libertadores contender.

a challenge i quite like is you start completely unemployed, go on holiday and auto apply for every job you can. You take the first job you get offered.

See how quickly you can work frmo there to winning the CL or being manager of a big team. I THINK I managed Real Madrid within 4 years, starting off at smoe random Brazilian club. I was pretty shocked.

Been a few years since I've tried it, though, i'll give it another go some time.

i started a new game after this comment

took over some brazilian club, ATG, for them into the first division in the first year, and kept them up with like a 5th place finish, then finished 4th. They wouldnt give me any real money for the transfer market so I left to Southampton

Turned into a disaster, and I resigned after liek 3 months without winning a game basically.

Ended up at Udinese, to keep them up from the drop - first season I finished 15th, then 8th, 5th and 4th - never erally got much money but did some great bosman signings like Chong, Harvey Elliott.

Anyway, where I'm taking this - Juve offered me the job and I took it. 25/26. They've got no money. -100m in the bank, I just finished the season scraping 2nd place, my budget for next year? £2.5m.

I dunno wtf is going on, assume its Ronaldo related, but they're absolutely fucked.

Hope this is real life too.

You took a Juventus job?? Ffs dude...

I started a save with AGF in Denmark a while back, see how it goes. The idea is to hop around several clubs in mid-tier leagues before making a step to a midtable team in a top leage and win it, then move to Inter or something for a dynasty. Essentially a final fm20 save as I always do during the summer which tends to be my longest one.

i think this is the first time i've everp layed as juve tbh.

Conte has done a great job at Inter, normally I'd hold out for the Inter job but there's no sign of it coming up any time soon.

tbh juve were the only ones offering me a job and i wanted to step up frmo udine, making the CL and getting a trasnfer budget of £5m is a fucking joke

I did 3 seasons at Juve. considering they finished outside of Europe at all, first season I did major squad overhauls and reduced the average age from like 29 to 22 and finished 2nd, then the next two seasons I won the league. In that time I got turned down for the Inter job because I was working at a rival, which made me look for a new job

Took a job with Barca - £300m transfer pot but a squad average age about 30, including most of the XI being 35 or above. I've now sold £300m of palyers for Barca and spent £450m on only 5 players (including 3 youth stars I had at Juve) and Bastoni, but I've brought the average age down from 30 to 25. Next window, if I make it there, will be similarly harsh - 34 year old Bernado Silva, 33 year old Milan Skriniar are up on the chopping block next.

i'm in my second season with Inter and I signed Coutinho but I'm thinking of selling him after 1 year. He is my LW in a 4-2-3-1, or sometimes the AM but he almost never scores a goal or assist. He played 30 matches and only scored 7 goals and gave 5 assists. As back-up I have De La Vega and in the summer Talles Magno is coming, both are not good enough to be a starter so I will either sell Coutinho and get a new LW or I keep Coutinho and hope one of my youngsters will do the job.

Does anyone had the same problem when signing Coutinho or am I using him the wrong way?
