If it was the other way round Xavi would have complained that the pitch sucked and Italy parked the bus.. :trollol:

Fortunately for fans, Italy didn't go negative and park the bus or manipulate the pitch...they played to win in the Euro, had a great tournament but came up against an imperious side

Wait, can't you play to win with a defensive style aswell? Can't see how It's negative, use the right players for best possible result.
And against the best defense in the world, I don't see how they could have scored anyway with thier forward of thiers.
Yes, they played more offensive and it costed them the match, not worth it if you ask me.

But I have to agree with this guy with his previous post..
Barca and Spain indeed have raised the bar, like it or not, they'll be on top for many more years to come.
I would like to see the bigger clubs go thier way (not talking about thier football style) and invest more and more in the youth.
I want to see 20 year olds starting in Inter, who earn under 500k, that can actually pass, defend and score, not a retarded overpaid 35 year old who can't even cross.

It'll take a while, probably over 10 years to see it happening here, but why not?
As for Barca.. as much as I dislike them, I can't see how they're gonna fall apart anytime soon. (alongside Spain)

They got a plan going, it started over 10 years ago, only came to full effect only around 5 years ago though.
They will always have a replacement for thier current players, maybe only Messi is impossible to replace, but there will be a new Iniesta and Xavi.

Like 'em or not, that's the reality.

Ah, I, too, hate that mentality. Say what you want, "parking the bus" is tactical strategy, and teams with strong counter attacks are simply playing football in a manor that gives them the best opportunity to win. Playing balls out when you're a less talented team does not make much sense. Play to win; but play smart and logically.

I liked italy, since there are no inter players i can't stand to watch rubentus and bilan players celebrate and claiming it's all because of them. Their fans here in Indonesia are just annoying as fuck.. thanks God they lost!

I noticed there are our treble hero: balo and motta. I loved them once, and then turned into hate. One was wearing BIlan jersey and said clearly he's a bilanista While he's an inter player!! Threw Inter Jersey to the ground... What the hell was that???

and the other one left inter while the other players struggled and suffered.. you're cursed motta! you suffered even worse now!!

They should learn, No Inter Player = No Glory!

Class comments from Buffon and other Italian players. They really can go out with their heads held high, they have a lot to be proud of and they didn't deserve that scoreline. Really grew to like them and what they brought to the tournament, only reason I didn't cheer for them today was because they were playing Spain.

As a Barca fan, I'm happy for those of our players who participated, it's a wonderful achievement for them.

Well we'll see about that ;) Speaking of RM players though I really have to compliment Ramos, I'm far from his biggest fan but he had a great tournament and had a good partnership with Pique. I didn't trust him at first but he proved me wrong. And I don't even have to say how monumental Casillas is.

Casillas saved Spain two goals today easily, one on his punch where De Rossi would have had a free header, and another which I'm blanking on. Ramos was also impressive at CB all tournament, looked natural really.

I'm just disappointed with Prandelli's decisions really.

He was so cocky choosing the line-up and all. I wish he doesn't get to stay, but he's staying anyway.

Most of his descisions have been pretty good, but on the final it seems that he didn't get anything right.

Well...the formation got Italy this far so had he changed it and lost, everyone would have said why change something that was working....but i would have played like this against Spain

Buffon
Abate-Bonucci-Barzagli-Chiellini
----Motta----Pirlo----------De Rossi
-------------Marchisio--------------
-----------Cassano---Balotelli-----

And if i were 1-0 or 2-0 and looking for the win i would take out Marchisio and put in Di Natale and play

Balotelli-----------Cassano
---------Di Natale--------

to try and get the win, Italy lost the midfield battle and even when they were 1-0 or 2-0 down they couldnt attack because they couldnt win back the ball, another idea would have been to play with 5 midfielders and balotelli up front alone, this way Italy can have anough players in midfield to build up play and try to attack.

Enhorabuena España.
Well deserved win.

Special congratulations to Juanfran. Unfortunately he didn´t get some minutes on the pitch during the tournament - but he is 'muy buena persona', a guy you always want to have in your team and in your dressing room.

Farewell guys. I'm doing it tonight.

It was nice knowing you, and I loved this board. Thanks for everything.

In the end, the disease that is Spain/Barca, got me.

Goodbye. :(

Every good thing has to come to an end, it was good while it lasted. RIP Martijn. Greatest Barca hater on boards. :(
