the club has similar a zaniolo type player already, his name is Joaquin Correa, and he is useless. no need to add new. the club should target a prima punta and available on free transfer. His name is Marcus Thuram.

Remember when Verdi was linked to Inter? Here`s some last minute drama for you

FIGC BLOCKS VERDI MOVE TO SALERNITANA
Simone Verdi’s last-minute transfer to Salernitana has been rejected by the FIGC, so the forward will remain at Verona for the rest of the season.

The 30-year-old had put pen to paper on the contract after the two clubs reached an agreement, but they were unable to register the paperwork before the deadline.

Salernitana had lodged an appeal, insisting there were technical problems on the Lega Serie A website that delayed the deal beyond the cut-off point.

However, today the Federation examined the incident and ruled that the clubs were simply unable to complete the move on time.

It means Verdi will remain at Verona for the rest of the 2022-23 campaign.

This was a particularly complicated deal because it also involved Torino, as Verdi is technically still owned by the Granata, on loan with an obligation to buy for €5m in June 2023.

He has 10 Serie A appearances for Verona this season, scoring one goal, and it would’ve been a return to Salernitana, where he was on loan from January to June 2022.
Italians and deadlines :yao:

So from now on our biggest transfers will be not to lose anybody and after this not to lose anybody for free.

Seems like Roma are selling Zaniolo to the lowest bidder: Galatasaray
Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, the bid is €15m plus another €7m in various bonuses, taking the total to €22m.
Sportitalia have a slightly different version, €16m plus €4-5m in add-ons.

Fenerbahce had seemingly improved upon that last night, but it’s reported Zaniolo had already made up his mind to join Galatasaray.
That is probably because the team already includes several former Serie A players, including Dries Mertens, Mauro Icardi and Lucas Torreira.

The contract will be worth €3.6m per season including performance-related bonuses.

Roma were hoping to spark a bidding war between the Turkish teams ahead of their transfer deadline on Wednesday.

As part of their original deal to bring Zaniolo in from Inter, the Nerazzurri are owed 15 per cent of the sell-on fee.

The other important element that Zaniolo insisted on was a release clause allowing him to return to Serie A next season.

He was pushing for €25-30m, but it seems Galatasaray have managed to hold firm at €35m.
Bad management and bad business by Roma. They went from selling a potentially 50-65M player for just 15M. I mean his current worth is 30M!

I smell something fishy here, perhaps they have found a way to compensate under-the-table or some future deals? So Inter get the lesser of that 15% resale clause.

If not: what an incredible fuckup! Only Inter can top this by losing Skriniar on a free :palm:
