What did he cost them? 40-50 million a year? So they saved 40-50 million + 15 million fee they got from Man Utd.
They are freed a year early from a contract that was strangling them financially.
Sure, but this is a short-term benefit. And they "capitalized" on that benefit by overpaying for Moise Kean.

TARE REVEALS FRANKFURT CHANGED THEIR MIND ABOUT LAZIO TARGET KOSTIC :D

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has revealed Eintracht Frankfurt are not willing to sell Filip Kostic after all. ‘I was surprised’.

Reports emerged regarding a possible move for the Serbian winger, who seemed to be on the verge of joining Maurizio Sarri’s side.

But sporting director Tare has revealed the negotiations with the Bundesliga side fell through in an interview with Bild.

“I was surprised that Frankfurt is now saying that Kostic is not on the market and that it’s not a question of price,” Tare told the German newspaper.

“I didn’t have an impression from our talks that Kostic was not allowed to leave the club. We would have been willing to negotiate the price again.

“But it didn’t come to that. Six or seven days ago, I already informed Markus Krösche that we wanted Kostic.

“We confirmed this by email, as requested. Then it was publicly stated that there was no offer.”

THANK GOD WE HAVE DON BEPPE!

Kostic didn't join Lazio for two reasons.

  1. Lotito, being the cheap bastard he is, didn't offer more than 10m while Eintracht had always set the price at 15m.
  2. Eintracht got extremely pissed with Lazio when they made the player skip trainings in order to force a move

Apparently Lazio mailed their offer for Kostic to the wrong address as well. :yao:
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche noted (among other things) that he had received no concrete offer for Serbian winger Filip Kostic during a post-match interview this weekend. According to Germany's Sport Bild, this was because an initial tender from Lazio Rome had actually been sent to the wrong e-mail address.

adn we are wondering why Arsenal is 20th :D :D

He could actually be a good player under competent manager, sending players to current Arsenal is basically like asking them to dive in to a croc infested lake.

It obviously does not depend on them, so I doubt they are landing him today.

Also, the official figures have been released - it seems that Man Utd are not 100% retarded as they did not pay the entire asking price. Penaldo costed them € 15m payable in five financial years, which might be increased, up to a maximum of €8 million, upon achievement of specific performance objectives > generating them a loss:
“This operation generates a negative economic impact of approximately € 14 million on the 2020/2021 financial year due to the partial write-down of the net book value of the player’s registration rights,” the Bianconeri announced.

They have also seemingly overpayed for Kean  on 7m loan with an obligation to buy from Everton (definitive acquisition is € 28 million, payable in three years. Furthermore, a maximum of € 3 million of cumulative bonuses are envisaged upon achievement of further sporting performance objectives.”) > Merda could pay up to €38m to sign the player on a permanent deal after selling him to Everton for €30m.

EDIT: @Jnr and @qb4ever_2k beat me to it  Nevermind, let`s all enjoy these news hahahah

I came here just to see this 🤣

My day is more bright knowing that jube got minusvalenza on ronaldo's deal. Its even better knowing that they overpaid Kean. He flopped in Everton but Jube pay more than when they sold him to Everton and in covid era.

He played pretty good in PSG last season, I admit that, but playing with superstars in league 1, most players will look good.

It appears Jube wont get Pjanic. Hopefully not because there is potential Pjanic along with locateli can solve their midfield problem.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna for €20m plus €3m add-ons. Tomiyasu joined Bologna from VV Sint-Truiden in a €7m deal in 2019, so it`s a good deal for them.
Does Giulini have explicit photos of our management?
I think the management made this decision based on where Salcedo could actually find the most playing time.
Cagliari allowed Simeone to leave on loan for Hellas Verona last week, and were actively stepping up the search to sign a replacement for the Argentine in their squad.

My biggest worry about this mercato is the lack of news on a Brozovic extension. His contract is up next summer and we cannot afford to lose him on a free.
Lautaro, Barella and Brozovic contract extensions are next, according to reports. I`m sure there will be no issues with his extension (starter, family agent), that`s why nobody is concerned.

Keita Balde to Sampdoria: Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX report that the Senegalese striker will return to the club where he spent last season on loan on a permanent basis.

Juventus have officially purchased Mohamed Amine Ihattaren from PSV Eindhoven and he will go to Sampdoria on loan. The creative midfielder was picked up for circa €5-6m and signed a contract to June 2025.
FYI: his contract was expiring in 2022 and Mino Raiola is his agent (Kean deal bonus).

Arsenal is such a bad move for Tomiyasu. I guess in hindsight he should've gone to Tottenham when they were interested.
Haven't really paid attention to Tomiyasu, is he any good?

Re Lazi o/Kostic I love this kind of stories where I read too much planning and scheming into something, only to find out someone was just mistaken or incompetent.

Lazio are just incompetent in general. There was so much potential for them these past 10 years or so only for Lotito to always find ways to set them back again.

Sarri has been their best coup yet (as well as keeping SMS for so long) but let's see how and if they progress.
