The world cup makes too much money, and FIFA is too greedy to do away with the world cup.
I think this is just a way for them to make more money. I personally like the idea of a tournament like this every four years. I just think the load on the players need to be lightened by having fewer matches. Maybe play an abbreviated format for the CL or the league on the years that they have this tournament. Just can't expect human beings to perform like machines.

10 years of FIFIt's FIFA, they always do this. There is no defined ranking. In World Cups they always have pots based on location. Only the pot 1 is usually made of the top top countries.
This time they wanted four euros, four south-americans.
