I's funny because Gosens has never had a better performance than Dimarco's against Plzen since coming to Inter, and seeing his form before that at Atalanta I'd even argue that it's been 18 months since he last showed anything special.

To be fair he hasn't started that many games for us but when he was given a chance most of the time he was never incredibly good/effective/decisive. I'm all for giving players the chances they deserve to show their worth, it's the same for Bellanova and Asllani, but imo, it's very clear that despite all his flaws Dimarco doesn't make it any easy for Inzaghi to drop him. In terms of mentality, offensive threat, dynamism he's delivering even more than was expected.
Exactly this. Nothing in his current performances in the matches proves he should get more playing time. And we need to remember match minutes in a week is only small percentage of the stuff the players do weekly. Inzaghi and his staff see the players every day in trainings.

Maybe, just MAYBE it could be Inzaghi simply doesn't see Gosens would bring to the table stuff he wants? Like talked multiple times over and over, Gosens and Dumfries are similar and maybe Inzaghi doesn't prefer symmetrical lineup?

Dimarco being or not being enough for a starting role at Inter is completely different discussion. Against Gosens, he might be good enough. At least for Inzaghi he has clearly been so far.

Okay wow, so now Gosens is Eriksen level player? Bit of an exaggeration?

I wasn't comparing the players. Only the arguments. Exact same narrative. Gagliardini was a better fit for Conte's system and Eriksen hadn't shown anything in the garbage minutes he was getting to deserve a start.

Yes, tormenting. Our left flank had a field day yesterday and Dimarco was pouring dangerous crosses all the time.
First of all Plzan was a shit opppnent. Secondly, Dimarco wasn't tormenting anyone. His best move the whole match was his assist to Dzeko and even that wasn't anything impressive. I like the guy, but he's not good enough to be our starting LWB.

Plus your comparisons between him and Gosens are ridiculous. You could only make a fair judge if they both get a close playing time. But not only Gosens gets small game time and hardly ever start a match, he's obviously low in spirits due to the way he's getting treated at Inter.

What's wrong with that narrative?

Eriksen wasn't fit for Conte's system until they found a way when he was.

If same applies to Gosens, great. But so far he hasn't been a fit.

If Gosens hasn't deserved a starting spot? Nothing we've seen points to that he deserves it. And we need to remember we see only a tiny bit of Gosens during the week, coach and the training staff see him daily multiple hours.

Not sure which match you saw but Di Marco destroyed that left flank in the match , constantly pushing forward and creating dangerous attacks.

The situation was clear from day 1 to be honest guys i don't know why you are surprised. Gosens and Dumfries are off ball type of wingers , they both have the same strengths and weaknesses. It just makes sense that you prefer Di Marco instead who is the only winger in our roster currently who can actually play with the ball in his feet.
What i don't agree with Inzaghi is treating di Marco like Roberto fucking Carlos and choosing him in every match until he gets exhausted. Pilzen was an occasion for Gosens to start , and he doesn't deserve to be given only 10 minutes per game. But if i have to choose with both players being perfectly fresh then i pick Di Marco because he offers more to the existing team.
If we had Hakimi on the right then i would pick Gosens on the left

I need to watch the game again, but I think it was the combination of tactics and Dimarco doing the job brilliantly.

If Gosens was a right-footed player, he'd start every game. He's a second-phase player. He's a first-class Dumfries.

In the first half against Juventus it is evident how much Dimarco needs Bastoni to play with, as Acerbi is nowhere near as ball-playing as Bastoni.

Exactly. In games where there is no space, we need Bastoni to play

yet some folks continue to make excuses for Limone's insisting to play him 90% of the time

He has started almost all our games and he has 0 assists in the league. Zero. Darmian has 2. Nothing else needs to be said.

His lack of aggressiveness was pathetic. Couldn't even take advantage of the worst Cuadrado in many years. The whole team was slow and clumsy in reactions and many things but Dimarco's approach toward his opponent was fucking annoying. You either fight or you don't, there is no between.

Hear me out, Dimarco reimagined as a LCM.
