We chose to take Lukaku on a mega expensive loan (with higher wages than Dybala) rather than signing Dybala for free on a permanent transfer. This can't be a serious conversation.

And for the season after? The Lukaku savings went to pay for Pavard... Imho a team with Thuram and Lautaro needed Pavard more than it needed Dybala

And also what exclusions would we have had to have made?
maybe a pricey 1 year loan of Lukaku?

@CafeCordoba remind me how many games Lukaku played in his last season for Inter?

This Dybala thing needs to stop. The guy has been missing 50% of Roma's games, in two seasons.

Don’t come here with all your logic.

I’m personally glad we never got it, it was a bullet well avoided and it was even predictable, just like Sanchez would be as good as useless

The issue is probably not even any fee but the demands by the agent. Starts with 7M net salary (not gonna get this anywhere) and fat commission. Agent is Fali Ramadani.

Chiesa is IMO not worth even his current salary of 5M + 1M bonus. So it's hard to sign him even as a free agent tbh when he think a bit too much of himself (of course the agent is just doing his job). He needs to first show he can play at the level of that salary (his current one, let alone more).

Also he wants to be a starter and we cant offer that.... Benching thuram for this guy would be madness

I don’t even care about Chiesa at this point. Just sign somebody and let Arna and Correa know they ain’t playing a fucking minute this year. Both of them, particularly Arnautovic, know how broke we are and that’s why they’re refusing to leave. But I have a hard time believing we are so fucking poor with new ownership that we cant get rid of fringe rotation players before buying a 4th striker.

According to Diario Sport, Chiesa realises he has very few alternatives and therefore could not continue to demand a €7m per season salary 😅
In fact, they say he is accepting a reduction on the current €5m wages he earns at Juventus, ready to sign on for €4.5m if Barcelona can guarantee him a three-year deal.

Agent Fali Ramadani has been in Spain discussing the terms and seems to have worked to make everyone content
Now they need to work out a fee with Juventus, who risk making a net loss on the former Fiorentina man for anything less than €15m, but are prepared to do that just to get him off their books.
The total cost between fixed fee and bonuses cannot be over €14m for the Blaugrana.

Thought that Barcelona are not allowed to register players any more?

Yeah let's wait a bit, as I've still understood they haven't been able to register Olmo yet but now that Gundogan is gone, it's possible. How they gonna include next acquisition, beats me. But I don't understand those salary cap rules of La Liga.

Spanish paper Diario Sport claim that the opening offer is €9m plus another €4m in add-ons, after agreeing personal terms with the Italy international.

Although it is possible that Juve could accept less than €15m, and therefore make a net loss on the €60m purchase from Fiorentina, they will likely still want more of that to be guaranteed than €9m.
Barcelona were able to make the bid today because they have agreed the sale of defender Mikayil Faye to Rennes for €12m.

Ilkay Gundogan is also heading to Manchester City and Vitor Roque on loan to Real Betis.

Chiesa to Barca seems a Kessie type signing. Decent player, signing cos of getting a decent bargain. But it won't work, and they will be parting ways in a year.

They made a pretty good profit on Kessie though
