An agreement was in place for Dalbert to join Nice from Inter before he suffered his anterior cruciate ligament injury
An Agreement Had Been Reached For Inter Wingback Dalbert To Join Nice Before The Injury, Italian Media Report

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, the Brazilian wingback has had a terrible run of luck this summer and now it has emerged that he would have been leaving Inter this summer on a permanent deal. :palm:

He has spent three seasons away from Inter on loan and was destined to leave this summer with one year left on his contract. He then suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury which has required surgery and will keep him out of action for months.

He was actually supposed to join Ligue 1 side Nice for an agreed fee of €4 million but that move has fallen through because they understandably do not want to pay for a player who is set to be on the sidelines for months.
4M surely better than 0. What a monumental fuckup :palm:

Holy smokes! How in the hell couldn't they get this done, some dingbat micromanagement nonsense no doubt. This beggars belief.

He would have been for Nice what Lukaku was for us and Chelsea.

Gabigol and Joao Mario deal were screaming money laundering in my opinion. None of them were worth even close to the amount they were bought for. Look where they ended up now.

As much as management can not stand being reminded of him, they should have called him back to train with the group, even though he has no future at the club. It may have prevented him from training on his own and gettiing injured. Unfortunately for us, the guy is a complete fucking moron.

He's rehabing by himself. The club believes if they ignore him enough he will simply go away.

Which is exactly what will happen. Next summer. Unless we extend his contract.

What I don't get is this - Dalbert was a flop at Inter. From the beginning. He joined us in 2017 for 5 years. His contract should have ended this summer. Clearly some brainless nitwit at Inter extended his contract at some point. I am looking at you, Darth Ausilio!

We were trying to lower his annual amortization hit, thinking we would one day sell him.

Yes, our management is in incompetent.

I think Inzaghi will be quite happy, when Dalbert is back. Darmian will go again to the right side, and therefore Bellanova will be not used anymore.

It's hard to believe that this is now his 6th season under our ownership.
