What?

It's contract negotiations going on. He's gonna ask for more than what he's gonna get. That is normal negotiation standard anywhere in life. How are you gonna hate him for that? Nothing is damaging the club so far. If he doesn't accept lower salary we're offering, we sell him and most probably he's gonna accept that.
So dont blame the management when Skriniar was freeing himself. Contract started and contract ended. He literally said he didnt want to get sold then what else could we do?

Dont tell me "they could have planned earlier". Plan what? Same as Denzel now. He shouldnt care about the deteriorating of value to Inter.

Double standard here and there  always management fault, right?

Dumfries has one year left of his contract. He's going to get sold in the summer if he can't find agreement over a new deal. There are no issues.

Only in the most optimistic case. We want to sell =/= Dumfries agrees. Nobody is stupid enough to pay what he is asking. And freeing himself he will pocket whatever money Inter would receive, similar to Thuram with 8m. Its better for his bank account.

You dont realize this is a carbon copy of Skriniar situation? Marotta didnt "forget" anyone's renewal ffs. Neither does De Laurentiis. Ofc he wants to sell Zielinski sooner for any money. But player is holding his pen, always.

Please note, I am not calling jail for Dumfries or Skriniar. What they are (were) doing is perfectly legal. But if you are on his side, seeing no problem in the delay till summer, please, be consistent. Dont bash the management for too little money we will receive in 2024. Or worse, 0€ in 2025. Thats not their fault.

I don’t think a traditional top 6 team in EPL will come for him. However I could see a West Ham or Aston Villa type type being interested.
Most top PL clubs are interested in him actually.

Problem is how high up their target list he is and how many others they're targeting.

For that reason he wouldn't go to a West Ham, not till the final deadline day most likely unless we push him coz they threw 40m or something that others wouldn't match.

It s not a carbon copy of skriniar especially if dumfries is already telling mgm now that he wont renew for that amount...
The problem with skriniar was that he made the mgm believe that he will sign that contract eventually and thats why we dd not ship him to psg for 50 mio.
thiking about it it really aint much like skriniars situation no reassurances from player that he loves inter and will sign for sure....

Imho you r just assumng Denzel is a greedy fuck... IRL this does not happen often.. As in i dont think to many players refused a move to a club just to join e a year later on a free...

Yes that's true. Skriniar was worse because he is a liar. Dumfries isnt a liar but delusional and all about money in his decision. If he cares that much about 1m he will be more so about some millions that the other team will pay him a year after.

A better example could be Gladbach. In 2022 they managed to ship Zakaria on cheap to Juve when he refused to extend. The player cooperated, although its cheap, not that bad. But for Thuram he refused both their extension and Arsenal approach in January and pocket 8m.

Yeah Inter fans will not feel pissed because he is playing great for us. But imaging German fans, they can't be happy. Hence my Skriniar example.

If he is only about the money, we can ship him off to Saudis. I doubt that they will pay something over 30 for him, but even 25mln is a good price.

Transfermarkt says he's worth €30m, but getting that cash for him could be a tough task. selling him for ~€25m would be great to me

I've grown to like him, but he is quite replaceable. Sell if possible.

Exactly.

For instance, Dimarco is a player who is hard to replace because of his quite unique left foot. Dumfries doesn't have such unique qualities and these kind of wingbacks shouldn't be kept with the wages representing first-team status. Because what I think is our system allows the wingbacks to be not THAT high level and still be effective. If they are high level or have some unique high-level attributes, then higher wages are justified.

That's why Dumfries should be kept only with a decent salary, 5m€ net is IMO not that. I wouldn't renew with 4.5m€ either, MAYBE with 4m€ net.

While i agree that we should not offer him 5 and even 4.5 is steep, i think people are underrating how good he was and how few good RWB/RBs there are.
Just remember how fucking long it took us to find decent replacements for JZ and Maicon...
Nagatomo and Jonathan were amongst the better ones.

Also no darmian aint a better RWB than dumfries..

I would sell him now if possible. Fuck him if he really thinks he is much better than Dimarco.
We are covered with Buchanan.

Dumfries will regret this when we win Champions League in next years.

He's not doing anything wrong tbh. Next contract he signs will probably be his last big contract. Of course he will ask for good money.

Also, we're definitely not covered if we sell him now. Buchanan hasn't played a single minute and I think Darmian has shown he should not play as a wingback anymore, so we'd be left with one wingback, someone who has played 0 minutes for the club so far.
