One of the most impactful players in the team lately. He's making things easier for Dimarco aswell, since him being in form and producing numbers is making us look less predictable and more competitive. Absolutely love his character. This Inter is just incredible in many ways, we have different kind of players in many positons and we are yet so competitive and entertaining to watch.
It’s kind of thrilling that if he keeps this up, teams have to constantly respect both our wingbacks. It’s awesome to have a team that can score in unpredictable ways. If only our forwards gave me a bit more confidence, I’d say we’d be a CL favourite to win it.
Speaking of wingbacks, we are being more complete; initially it was more left side initiate & supply, right side finish and stop counters. (Partially has to do with Škriniar on the right and Bastoni on the left initially, but the nature of Dimarco and Dumfires plays a role too)
Thing is DiMarco and Dumfires both evolved as a player, and now we can just play both ways on both sides.
The recent Dumfries to Dimarco goal (Lazio), and then Bastoni to Dumfries goal. (Lazio)
It's not since contract extension, it's since we stopped starting fucking Darmian over him, he was always the superior player, we just wanted to use him to put pressure on Dumfries during the negociation imo.
Denzel is superior both in defence and in attack, just let him play a string of games and get in top physical form and you have a monster right wing back.
He's been quite impactful since that contract renewal. And I'm not talking only about the goals, but the contribution in overall. Love how he's putting solid performances.
Makes things easier for the team, especially how Dimarco can be underwhelming sometimes.
One of the few players I’m able to say I was right on. He’s a beast and I can see some prem clubs knocking on our door by July. Finally given a run of games over GD Darmian and look what happens as stated above.
His sprint against Milan - I dont remember what minute it was, and i was gonna comment on it after the game had we not lost - reminded me at prime Bale
There’s an Italian word “strapotere”, which roughly translates to ‘unstoppable/excessive power’ or a ‘sense of being untouchable/unreachable’ that this guy sometimes gives me when he hits this kind of form.
We can bitch and moan all we like about his lack of technical ability, but he’s so physically domineering that it’s very easy to look past shortcomings. The way he rose up for that header was monstrous.
