He had that "not afraid of nobody" swagger when playing for Sassuolo, running with the ball and going for the goal. Sadly he only showed that side of him in like 10% games he played for us. Some teams won't allow it, mostly it was him not being mentally all there, but when he takes the ball forward - only Thuram and Barella are better for Inter at that.

He was pretty impactful live against Udinese last season when he also scored. Dude has something, he just isn't mentally all there, but he isn't as diverse as Hakan or Barella are and that shows in a system like Inzaghi's.

Also Sassuolo's 433 is not the same as Inzaghi's 352. That is why some people think he'll flourish in Roma (or Milan). Maybe the defensive duties are messing with his game too much. I don't know. It's hard to say. Maybe he wants to be a starter and that messed him up.

I'm not missing his goals as much as his assists. He is a limited player, but not as limited as he is playing right now.

I think that's a bit unfair. We can't compare Inter and Sassuolo. Vastly different environments, vastly different characters in the teams, roles of each player, including Frattesi, in relation to his team mates.

Someone will pay 30 because as wera said there is a player somewhere there and we have seen it. He would have probably been a good player for us under Conte but Inzaghi prefers a midfield that doesn’t suit him. I’ll give him his dues though dude keeps himself in unreal shape and doesn’t lack the commitment. It’s the application of his skill set to Simone ball that falters.

At least he put in some effort (unlike other players).
We all know he doesn’t really fit into Limone-ball, but against Atalanta, I could see him trying. Effort counts for something.

Mkhitaryan carries the ball forward as well as any of them.

I had him in mind too, especially the last two times Mkhitaryan played he was great, but it's 2025 and he has shown he can't do it on that level every time anymore.

If it was about ball technique, it's Mkhitaryan over Frattesi, but as a player right now, Frattesi still has the legs to run up and down, I just wish he had the confidence to do it more often, that's all.
