I always say Icardi will be the next Vieri because of how people underappreciated them just because they live on the wrong time at Inter. We already seen how Interisti almost 'abandoning' Icardi just because his off pitch life same goes with Vieri after that beef with Moratti who kick him out to Milan. For that reason ridicilously he is put on the same bracket like Ronaldo and Zlatan as "Our top 5 striker in decade but since them had no manner they didnt deserved to be on FIF silly LGI list". And you know what people already sure to throw Icardi on that bracket too by those ungrateful interista who is more like loser who hate some popular guy in school and made campaign with all of their ugly friends to single out and bully them lmao.

As much as I love and supporting Icardi now from technical view and as a whole its just no brainer, I pick Vieri over Icardi any day a week. Reason? Man I live on that era how I need the reason. As of now he even not on my top 5 striker for inter, From 1. RONALDO 2. VIERI 3. ETOO 4. ZLATAN 5. MILITO and Icardi just at 6 almost neck to neck with Milito and soon will climb the list for sure. The next list 7. ADRIANO 8. CRUZ 9. RECOBA 10. PALACIO.

Mmmmm from your top 10 strikers list I don’t think Eto’o is 3rd at all. Milito was way more more important than Eto’o and definitely left a bigger mark and Ibra too.

Milito indeed have his best season of entire career under our shirt but considering all aspect as whole I choose Etoo and Zlatan over him for simply a reason, a long time run consistency. Apart his 09/10 season Milito struggling to replicate and living under shadow due to his injury.

Etoo playing with Biabiany and Coutinho and made them like world class wingee then made Pazzini like best striker in his first six month in here, while on next season without Etoo, Milito struggling to carried this team. If I need to choose I will sell Milito than Etoo and probably we will have better season post treble if we keep Etoo for more longer.

Milito was superb in 2011/12 season, scored 26 goals and was runner up top goalscorer in Serie A.

Icardi moves off the ball like Romario, finishes like Ronaldo and heads the ball like Abel Balbo (google him). Playing with back to goal, general movement and positioning is very similar to Christian Vieri.

If only he had that Crespo/Milito cut dribbling ability he'd be considered one of the greatest of all time unanimously by now. There's too much Vieri in him for that to happen :)

I think he matured fairly early for a player of his age, accepting his limitations and not trying too hard to show off the incomplete side of his in hope of impressing fans. He knows what he can do and he knows that he is pretty exceptional at it. Get the ball to him 3 times in a match and he will score at least one goal. The first part of that sentence seems so easy in theory yet in practice not so much.

I love Vieri, my first football shirt as a kid in early elementary school was his #32, used to celebrate the goals the same way he did when I played with friends. I think he is more iconic for sure, but that also requires some time to pass. On the other hand, no players nowadays can reach the iconic status of players of that bygone era. We live in the time of fast food type of football. It's meant to be consumed, not enjoyed.
I just wish the dual attack of Vieri/Adriano was effective, to this day I don't quite get why it couldn't work though I have yet to really rewatch the old games.

Let's not forget that players like Vieri got exposure in International football while Icardi is overlooked for non-football reasons. Put Icardi in the Copa America and the World Cup squad of Argentina with a primary role, and people will be claiming that he's amongst the greatest ever.

Vieri had a great World Cup in 1998, Italy missing him in 2000 was crucial and in the World Cup of 2002 it was only him and Totti that performed well. And he also played in the Champions League for a long time as well. Icardi lacks this exposure and he's only been great for Inter. That hurts how he's viewed. And that's why Vieri has that iconic look. We've seen Vieri do great things with several jerseys.

Vieri was already on the way down when Adriano arrived from Parma. They only played for 1 season which was the calciopoli season.

Vieri is like that girl who took my virginity. Can never forget. :) He was somewhat part of a strange reason why I started supporting Inter so in spite of everything, he'll always have a special place in my heart.

Same here. I become a fan in 2001/2002 season. Long time ago. Vieri was a beast that year. Throughout history we've had some of the best strikers in the world and Vieri is also there. He should have avoided the beef with Moratti, he turned into a Rubentino overnight, but Im sure most of us never forget his goals with us.

He only had himself to blamed for letting his wires tabbed, had he used a satellite phone instead, he would have avoided the whole drama.

Context people...

Vieri's phone was tapped by Moratti, yes, an unfair move towards our star. But Moratti knew what was going on in Italy with Italian players, we had already had it happen to us with Cannavaro with the same methods.

Further context.

This was during the period that Moratti knew of the investigation of various people around football regarding corruption and he knew that it was going to be a huge thing when it was out. Not only did he want to know more about what was going on, he wanted to protect Inter from any similar case as our players could have been involved with players of other teams with various betting schemes or something similar and we could have cut it to the root if such a thing was going to occur before it even happened.

There's no way to not understand Moratti's angle, but he should have trusted Vieri.

If Moratti still around he definitely will tapped Icardi and Wanda phones. Then some of Moratti fanboys will agree with it.

Definitely need a disagree or "slap" button on FIF. I can't imagine Icardi scoring anything like Vieri's debut goal. Out of nowhere...

Icardi can only dream of scoring a goal like that.

I'm not trying to justify that Icardi > Vieri
IMO, both of them has their own style of play and come from different era.
But, here's on 3:50 Icardi did the same movement like Vieri vs Starjnan in different angle.
