The annual fun (for me), CL list speculation.

4 club-trained in green, 4 association-trained in yellow. 17 free slots.

Goalkeepers (3)Defenders (6)Wingbacks (4)Midfielders (7)Forwards (4)Not used slots
HandanovicDe VrijDarmian (AT)BrozovicLautaroUnused club-trained spot
Radu (CT)SkriniarDumfriesBarella (AT-eligible)Dzeko
Cordaz (CT)Bastoni (AT)PerisicCalhanogluCorrea
Ranocchia (AT)Dimarco (CT)Sensi (AT-eligible)Sanchez
KolarovVidal
D'Ambrosio (AT)Vecino
Gagliardini (AT-eligible)

Total: 3 CT + 4 AT + 17 free = 24 players

Notes:
- again we can't get the full 25 player list ready as we'll have only 3 club-trained players. Signing Cordaz was brilliant as it allows as to slot 2 goalies to 2 CT slots, so we don't spend those precious free slots to backup goalies who rarely play anyway
- if we are going to sign yet another forward, like Scamacca, we need to drop someone. No one else really comes to my mind than Sanchez, since signing that extra forward in the first place means Sanchez's fitness is a real concern. That would put our forward department in a bit of a worrisome state.
- B-list will be full of random names from our Primavera

Actually I think these same rules apply to Serie A these days too? I'm curious how are we gonna use Sanchez if we add new forward.

Yeah Serie A rules are very similar with the only difference being the u21 status iirc.. not sure if that changed also

I guess if Satriano stays it means we can add him as u21 player to some "B list". That's not possible with UEFA B list as he hasn't been at Inter for 2 full seasons yet. Then he cannot be club-trained later as he will hit age 21 before he'll have 3 seasons at Inter.

i think bastoni is club trained when it comes to serie a. My understanding is loan periods still counts as being in the club in italy.

I THINk the aargie thing will be different this time round. The issue, in my view, previously was that a number of absolutely KEY players were argentinian - Samuel, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Milito.

For me, the real core of this squad now is quite Italian - many of the influencing players, even if they arent the starters, e.g. Ranocchia, Bastoni, Barella are Italian, a lot of the rotation is Italian too (Sensi, Dambro, Gags), and then you have a number of players who (probably) basically count as Italian (Kolarov, Handanovic, maybe even Vecino?)

Cannot be listed. UCL rules say that u21 player has to be registered to the club for 2 years, Satriano has been at Inter for 1.5 years. But in Italy apparently it's enough that player is u21.

So this list comes to discussion now as Kolarov seems to be heading to retirement. Also if Sensi leaves we'll have two free slots available.
