FULL UPDATED POST HERE

ORIGINAL list: 29th of August

Goalkeepers (3):

Not used spots (2):
Unused club-trained spot
Unused club-trained spot

Total: 25

Original notions

- we end up keeping Biraghi after all because he can use one of the club-trained spots which we have plenty (we actually NEED Biraghi). We don't even have to use them all, because we don't have other senior players in our sight, available to fill those spots (I don't think Dimarco returns and it's debatable how senior he really is), so all the kids (u21) can be thrown to the B-list which can be submitted match by match 24h before, so much more flexible list.

- I dropped Candreva out from wingback department because latest news tell he's out of the project (he didn't play a single minute after Napoli match). And someone had to be dropped anyway cause of the list restrictions.

- there's one new player listing as we are definitely getting someone to our forward department

- midfield department is the one which might change a lot during the mercato. At least Brozovic and Vecino have been rumored out and I don't think Gagliardini's position is 100% certain either (if some makeweight-needed transfer appears).

- if Skriniar is sold, I guess he's being replaced by Kumbulla

edit 1. Tagged only the required 4 association-trained players, rest tagged as AT-eligible. This way we can see how many unrestricted spots there are used.

Actually, if Padelli is removed and we add Filip Stankovic to be the 3rd keeper (who is club-trained) then we don't need Biraghi but can use a free spot for second LWB.

I think Bastoni qualifies for B list and he probably could qualify as HG this time as we bought him in 2017 and he's completed 3 seasons as an Inter player, but entirely sure on this one as maybe he needs to be at the club without being loaned away for this to work.

B list from what I remember: Player is 21 or under in the calendar year of the season start iirc. So he turned 21 on April, so he should qualify as a B list player still. They usually use a 31/12/xx system, or 01/01/xx system. So if by 31/12/20 you do not turn 22, you are eligible, or if at 01/01/20 you were not 21, you are eligible. And he also needs to have been registered at the club for at least 12 months prior.

Bastoni is not indeed a HG player, because HG player needs to have been registered to that club for 3 seasons and Bastoni has been registered at Inter for only 1 season, loan periods don't count. Also you are qualified to the B list only if you are a HG player.

Meant Club Trained obviously, not Home Grown as I wrote above.

According to UEFA: Club-trained players – players who were on a club's books for three years between the ages of 15 and 21.

Bastoni has been on our books from 18 to 21. Maybe they mean something else, I don't know.

If that was the case, then Zaniolo for example does not qualify as anyone's CT player. But in fact, he's considered to be Fiorentina's youth product under UEFA, despite only having completed 2 years there between 15 and 21. He's been at Virtus Entella at 17, Inter at 18, Roma since 19. You can be Club Trained by two clubs as well, provided that you move at 18 and have been at the same club from at least your 15th birthday. Which should be Bastoni's case, Atalanta (15-18) and Inter (18-21).

Yeah the language is tricky because he was technically on our books for 3 years between 15 and 21, but I'm not sure if that extends to a player on loan.

Let's see about that. I'm fairly certain Bastoni won't be a club trained player for us but I'm happily wrong in this one. IMO it's totally fine and according to the rules a player can be a club trained to no club at all.

With HG I also meant club trained. That HG is more like language used in EPL which also has their own HG rules.

I know he wouldn't be club trained in FM if that matters at all :D

Actually it is indeed much more reasonable to have Stankovic as the 3rd keeper since and not waste one free spot for the 3rd keeper spot. This is what we did last season (though we had Padelli as 2nd).

That would in a sense remove the necessity to have Biraghi and we could add any LWB to the list.

I'll make a new post maybe when we've got some signings and add a link pointing to it to the first post (rather than updating the first post).

Maybe should bring back Zinho, Pinamonti and Duncan/Benassi to fill the CT, how about Faraoni is he count as CT?

I also thought Benassi was a CT player but some people here were confident that he doesn't apply.

According to Wikipedia Benassi was at Inter for 2,5 years so I guess he's not club-trained? From Jan 11 to July 13.

Updated list

Goalkeepers (3):
Handanovic
Radu (CT)
Stankovic (CT)

Defenders (7):
De Vrij
Bastoni (AT)
Skriniar
Ranocchia (AT-eligible)
Kolarov
Pirola (CT)

D'Ambrosio (AT)
Perisic

Midfielders (7):
Brozovic
Barella (AT)
Sensi (AT)

Eriksen
Gagliardini (AT eligible)
Nainggolan
Vidal

Forwards (4):
Lukaku
Lautaro
Sanchez
Pinamonti (CT)

Not used spots (0):

Total: 25

Notions:

- Godin leaves Inter so that defence needs an addition. I also added Pirola there (forgot last time), he's club-trained so he technically doesn't take anyone's spot. I think looking at that defence we need to add someone
- Biraghi is gone so one club-trained player less
- Perisic returns and so far he's been in the team and used as wingback in both flanks. Valuable addition if he's motivated to play in that role as we don't have to go for the LWB then
- Pinamonti is added as 4th striker. His added value is the club-trained status which allow us to add player to the free spots, there are 17 of them (normal text). Let's see if he stays, rumors of him still going on loan exists.
- Vidal finally added (will join tomorrow). Also Nainggolan added to replace Vecino.
- replaced Padelli as 3rd keeper with club-trained Stankovic (if he stays). No reason to use one of those 17 free spots to 3rd keeper.
- there are players left out of the list like Dalbert, Asamoah and Candreva (who's already rumored to Sampdoria as we speak), also Vecino and Joao Mario (obviously, he's not even with the team in preseason). Salcedo and Esposito won't stay most probably either.

edit. Nainggolan is already in the list so basically what I wrote earlier was the list, apart from Pirola who got loaned out. So Darmian is the new defender and Pirola will be replaced by a our club-trained kid in Primavera if we have a proper one.

Not gonna do another post anymore as the CL list will be announced in few hours.
