Another 2 goals for him yesterday in a 3-1 victory over SPAL. You'll almost never hear me say this but call him up against Udinese. I'd rather take a massive gamble on this kid than give minutes to Gagliardini or Vecino.
A youth player with those numbers. Any other league in Europe he'd be given a chance. Here we are already talking about swapping him for some other trash "ready" player.

What I'd give to see us actually promote and play youth players. Every big club in Europe has club trained players who have come through the youth system in their ranks.

Ain't this the truth.

Can't wait for the Casadei + €5m for Acerbi rumors.

Agree, rather gamble with him and Agoume. They can't be any worse than Gagliardini and Vecino and with Hakan, Brozovic and Barella needing a breather/yellow card suspension/injury they'll see plenty of minutes. Now if Inter can find another youthful prospect for Vidal..the midfield maybe sorted.

Inter need to change their philosophy regarding using the youth. This has been an issue for a long time.

People keep saying: but Inter needs to win and we need EXPERIENCE for it! Yet with this philosophy we only have one Scudetto for the last 10 years, reaching only two CL finals for the past 50 years and winning only one CL for the past 57 years! That's not exactly a very winning formula! Compared to what we have spent for the past 20 years or so, our achievements are not on par with many other big clubs.

We waste a lot of money on the players who offer little to zero on the pitch and yet we keep riding on the same boat, bringing more of the same players and expect different results. They come, they earn a lot, they give very little, have no resale value, and we have the pay them at the end to get rid of them! This is far from sustainable and needs to change quickly!

People in this forum also need to stop this view that just because one player had one good game in months he's worth earning more than 10 youngsters! Hell, some of these players don't even have one good game, they have some good moments in one or two games. That should not justify paying such players millions! That's quite a weird approach from a club that claim to have NO money!

Our talented youth need to be kept and given a chance, not used to bring even more washed up oldbags on heavy salaries! We are not using our money and talents sufficiently. Our own philosophy is one of the reasons we suffer financially year in year out.

Every summer we wish to offload a big giant deadweight off our shoulders and yet here we are, still paying the deadwood and still justify paying them after one good moment!

Our highest earners must be our star players and play like a star player, not be an once in a while good team mate!

One option is to keep him for one season with the first team.

Then if he's not good enough, sell him with a buyback clause. That way we use his value in some swapdeal, use the plusvalenza in him too. Then if he shows development elsewhere, we can bring him back, thus kind of paying for his development.

Inter is not a club where young players are nurtured unless they are really ready to play. That philosophy won't change for as long as fanbase just wants wins and that's what the fanbase wants.

If Barella is injured for the rest of the season we should bring in this guy and start him from the bench. He can't be worse than Vecino.

You've been saying that for like forever!

What fanbase? Do you have an actual stats about what fanbase want or you're just speaking on the behalf of the entire fanbase? Inter should not be a retirement house for money thieves either. For a club that keep acting broke we are quite generous to give free money to those who give little to nothing back to the club.

Let's not keep justifying bad philosophy with the slogan of "Inter is not a club where young players are nurtured"! What should young players do when they get no chance to play here? Were Bonucci, Pirlo, Coutinho, Zaniolo and several others not good enough to play for Inter?!

No one is saying we should fill the squad with youngsters or give chances to bang averge young players, but the way we prioritize oldbags over young players and letting go of our talented youngsters while some good for nothing guys keep getting paid millions and offer nothing is quite pathetic.

What is the point of having the likes of Kolarov, Vecino and Caicedo in the squad when they don't even play? These 3 alone earn more than several starters for Milan, Napoli, and Atalanta. And I'm not even mentioning Vidal, Alexis and Dzeko, who are 3 of our highest earners and their impact on the pitch is not even worth half the money Inter is paying them.

It all goes back, at least in recent history, to the owners. Fired the coach on contract, pay for a new one and get his players. Result take 2nd, CL spot, then win the Scudetto in the Covid-19 year fueled year and before you know it they sell or lose to injury key players based solely oneconomic reasons. Essentially, in part do to the Covid, everything went pear shaped for the owners. They mortgaged Inter's future with " the win now" approach and it was successful, but the future may have been sacrificed. As mentioned above one way out is to try out some of the most promising youth and develop and play them with the first team and not buy some older experience players with limited upside.
The fan base, must be aware of the quagmire Inter is in financially. The damn thing has been going on for two years now on almost a weekly basis. I hope that the majority of the fan base will understand the "youth movement " approach.

I can't think of a manager of Inter who has been less willing to play youth than Inzaghi.

Spalletti gave Miangu a legitimate shot to be the starting LB for the club. He also played those two random kids in our Europa League ties. Even Conte gave meaningful minutes to Esposito at times in his first season. Were a lot of these decisions necessary due to a lack of squad depth? Sure. But you can argue we've been in a similar situation in the midfield and attack at various points this year.

Good point. What is Inzaghi's track record like with youngsters? I could be wrong but I can't recall him giving regular minutes to any youths at Lazio.

It was De Boer who gave a shot to Miangue. Expected since he had Ajax mentality but even he stopped using him once he realised his job was at risk. Pioli didn't even bother with him and in the summer he was sold to Cagliari.

For me Spalletti was by far the worst. He would rather play Santon and Nagatomo as cbs or Ranocchia as a forward than play a youngster. He didn't even consider giving a chance to Zaniolo. If Spalletti had stayed, i have no doubts Bastoni would have ended on loan at another club or even worse as a counterpart for another mediocre player he would ask.

As for Inzaghi, he had a bad reputation at Lazio for not using youngsters. I don't expect that to change at Inter.

Italian coaches don't trust youth players because of various reasons. Offcourse it has to do with the fact club presidents are very moody and your job can be on the line very quickly, it's saver to bet on experience than on youth. It's also because Serie A is a very tactical league. It takes time to adapt to that.

I really think we should start some partnership with Volendam. Jonk is a Cruijff adapt who develops youth and Volendam is promoted to the Eredivisie. Not the best league, but it isn't the worst either. Currently the 6th according to Uefa coefficients. It dit wonders for Mulatierri past year and this year Stankovic and Oristanio where key players too. I would rather they stay there for another year, rather than warm the bench in Serie B. Would love to see Esposito, Pirola and Casadei go there next year and see how they develop.

I think it's more about the general attitude in the country than who trust youngsters more among the Italian coaches. If a club decides to give the youngsters a chance and make it their philosophy, the coach should get in line with it as well. Not just our primavera players, but any talented youngster our scouts could find.

Our first team needs to have around 17-18 players who could be used as the first team/rotational players and 4,5 more youngsters who get the chance to play sometimes and even challenge the rest of the players for more playing time, if they can prove their worth.

Young players need to get the confidence from the club and the coach, but I have not seen that in Inter for a long time. Many senior players get chance after chance and do fuck all on the pitch, but young players don't even get 1 minute. This needs to change.

Do not sell the talented youngsters right away! If they're good enough keep them and give them a chance. If they're not mature yet loan them out for 2,3 years and then if they don't develop let em go.

Absolutely no reason a kid with these stats doesn’t have a professional appearance. Only in Italy, if he were in Spain or Germany he would probably have 20-30 appearances already. We’re talking about a 19 year old here not a 17 year old.

Absolutely. Gavi already is a starter at Barcelona. Florian Wirtz has already played 78 matches with Leverkusen. Musiala is a rotation option for Bayern. They're all younger than Casadei. If these players were in Italy, they would be treated like kids and they would still play in primavera. Italy has a huge mentality problem with promoting youth.

no wonder Italy lacks proper talents for his NT to compete in intercontinental events (Euro, World Cup etc). Nurturing youngster are prohibited in Italy. We could look Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, France, UK, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Nordic countries, and other European ones start 16-17 years old players in their starting XI at senior level regularly without hesitation. and Italy? start them and many fans would go riot😂😂😂

That just annoyed me. I thought he was 17-18, didn't realize he was 19 already ffs.

Volendham asked for Casadei. If we aren't willing to give him playing time, it would be a good place to send him.

Would be a good place to develop for him. Hope Oristanio and Stankovic stay there too. I secretly hope we also send Pirola and Esposito there. I really think Esposito can excell in the Eredivisie. It's a really good place for strikers to develop.
