Its kinda funny

Italian press was like OMG CESARE WAS GREAT AT CHELSEA on his most recent game. Some of the english press I saw was like DISASTER, NEEDS TO IMPROVE. Wonder what the reality was.

Probably somewhere in the middle (e.g. showed some things but not enough to be impressed). Media of any country usually overhype their own youngsters while they're overly critical about foreign youngsters. Sometimes it's better to trust the opinions of casual fans over columns of journalists. At least fans, despite their own bias, don't have an agenda and just express what they think. They may be right, they may be wrong but you know there are no motives behind their opinions.

Too late at 21? Definitely not. But he needs to leave Chelsea ASAP

And i would call his Leicester stint decent. He wasn't a starter but he got lots of playing time at the best team of Championship. But then he was called back to Chelsea and since then he has barely played there.

Casadei: Monza leading Juventus in race for Chelsea and Italy talent

Monza are reportedly leading the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei in the January transfer window, as Alessandro Nesta and his team want a deal wrapped up with the Premier League outfit before the start of the January transfer window.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monza are the most advanced of the teams interested in signing Casadei this January.

Monza are pushing to take Casadei on a straight loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 season, and are keen to have him in the side for the Serie A match against Cagliari on January 5.
Makes sense

Casadei just turned 22 last week and came up through the Inter youth academy, sold to Chelsea for €14.86m plus up to €5m in various add-ons in 2022.

Casadei eager for return to Italy

Torino have been in negotiations for a while, but Lazio stepped in after their failure to secure Jacopo Fazzini from Empoli at a price they considered to be fair.

Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains that Lazio have made a proposal today to Chelsea worth €13m.

It is also believed that the player prefers the Aquile to the other alternative, Torino, and talks are set to intensify to bring him back to Italy.
His transfer seems imminent

This was one of the most remarkable deals done by Marotta, but evidently a terrible one for the player. Being shipped off to a foreign country and to a club that was buying up a multitude of young players with absolutely no plan for them was a recipe for disaster we are seeing with many other similar players there.

His representatives should be ashamed putting him there and wasting a significant chunk of his young career at a time when he needs to be at a club he can play regularly at.

Tbf I think going to Chelsea was OK, they just needed to be sterner about either getting playing time there or going out on loan.

Yeah maybe these clubs don't not have specific plans for these kind of players. It's more like club-level plan to acquire young players and see who will pan out. Loan them somewhere and see what happens.

All of this activity screams "B-Team" to me. It'd be fantastic if that's the plan.
