The first match of the new manager! Let's see how he does but I'm already happy about the 4 man defense. :)

I hope Milan loses and we win. For now that's what I care about. We have plenty of games to play to get 1-4th. Anything can happen, I mean look what happened today!

What can we realistically expect from the game?

If, by some insanity, Gaspperini is in charge and plays a 3-4-3 again, I would not be surprised by a loss - a draw at best.

However, if there is a new man in charge it will be his first game in charge 3 days after a devastating defeat.

The staff need to really get their heads down and find a manager for the long-term and that cannot be achieved in 3 days. Personally, I would like to see Baresi moved into a caretaker role for the near future so the staff can achieve this.

Baresi knows the team well, the team respect him and he knows of their abilities, and any weaknesses. Having someone the lads know will help their morale and should give them a "one of us" view towards Beppe which will bring the team together after the torrid start to the new season.

He has served under a variety of managers as the assistant and should have a good idea of tactics, which will allow him to manage for the next few games at least.

Any thoughts?

Cambiasso, Zanetti, Chivu and Milito should be nowhere near the staring lineup. Time to throw Alvarez, Zarate, Luc, Obi into the fire and see what they can bring to the table and get it over with. We're not getting anything productive out of our experienced players anymore anyways.

Good luck to the new manager. May you be less of a disaster than Gasperini.

I'd like to see Zarate and Alvarez play. However, I'm undecided on Castaignos and Obi - they played today and Castaignos was largely invisible from what I saw. Meanwhile Obi struggled at left-back and was completely outplayed in the lead up to one of the goals.

Eh, after the disastrous Novara result, I'm keeping my expectation as low as possible. Draw.
