Agree with that, Cro Nerazzurri. Gilberto Silva is class. During his absentee in the early part of last season, Arsenal's defence keep leaking goals and Vieira didn't look too comfortable as Cesc, as good as he is, is not as effective as Gilberto in terms of covering the midfield when Vieira was making one of his runs.

Well the most hardworking midfielder who plays with the most spirit and always make the most important tackles while still being technically competent to deliver 50-yards passes, 30-yards shots and set-pieces so curly you almost mistook it for a banana has gotta be...

:)

David Beckham. :):):)

Over the last few weeks, Beckham has proved to me that he really is trying hard.
At first I thought he was a money hungry bastard, but after seeing him in action the last few weeks of the season, I have to admit he still have some quality left in him.

he used to play holding mid quite a bit for England NT & occaisionally for United, so he knows the position alright, just it's not his comfortable position..

Beckham has done quite well recently, but that doesn't makeup for the sh1t performances he put in the last 18 months.
The fact is, if he doesn't perform this season....he will be criticised more than ever before, because Figo is a fan favourite in Madrid, Figo is being sold, if Becks doesn't perform, ouch.

He's better than that pansy Owen, farking cheating little bastard. Everytime I hear his name, reminds of his "DIVE of GOD" against Argentina. Carnt.

Oh my! :D

My Beckham post contained sarcasm at its highest degree. :dielaugh:

Seriously, Beckham may have been alright in the last couple of months before the season ended but as Catanha10 mentioned, it didn't make up for the horrendous performances he put up with Madrid. :p He was, for me, the perfect right midfielder when he was with Man Utd though, excluding his last season there though.

He was really amazing when he played for United.
Especially the 98/99 season, when ManU won the CL
I remember it so clearly.
It still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth :depress:

I still blame the ref.
He should have called the game off in the 92.
There was no need for the extra 4 mintues have gave
