Why would we have fired him? He just upgrades from Corporate CEO title to CEO.
Because if he wa a planned to join Roma for a while he'd have been on gardening leave. If we wanted a few months of stability it makes sense for the continuity then getting rid of him

I can't believe someone would voluntarily leave this Inter a side step to this shit fuck Roma

Oaktree wants heads for the stadium that’s going nowhere. Probably firing the shot to warn Marotta not to keep signing free but old players either

President Giuseppe Marotta's comments during the Shareholders' Meeting

Dear Nerazzurri,

The document we are analysing today tells the story of a season marked by significant events that will forever be etched in Inter’s history.
Clinching the second star will always be a milestone moment in the club’s accomplishment records. The Scudetto won last April is the second in four years, a testament to a winning cycle that we intend to continue. The Italian Super Cup completes the picture of a magnificent season.
The days of the Scudetto generated indescribable emotions, allowing us to paint Milan in our colours once again.

I am addressing you in my new role as President, a position entrusted to me by our new majority shareholder, Oaktree, from the very start of its tenure. For a long-serving sporting director like me, this is an honour, accompanied by a great sense of responsibility, which I intend to fulfil to the best of my ability. As I mentioned on the day of the assembly, there are many examples to follow: from Ivanoe Fraizzoli to Ernesto Pellegrini, from Giacinto Facchetti to Massimo Moratti to, all of whom are leaders in my eyes.

From my first day as President, I have once again drawn inspiration from the great values of this club’s history, especially the sacrifices and work ethic that have defined FC Internazionale Milano since it was founded 116 years ago.

This document also marks the final chapter of Steven Zhang’s presidency, whom I thank for the trust he placed in me in 2018 by inviting me to the club. His passion for the Nerazzurri will be remembered by the fans as part of a legacy that helped the club win the second star.

These victories would not have been possible without the support of Oaktree, which provided the club with the financial resources needed to overcome the difficult moments of 2021. The trust that the men and women at the club have felt from the new ownership since the early days is particularly reassuring for the future.

Thanks to Oaktree, the club’s financial health has improved significantly over the past two seasons. Their backing will allow us to accelerate the recovery process, ensuring sporting competitiveness along with the necessary financial and operational sustainability, elements that previously seemed at odds with each other.

Football is evolving rapidly and it is essential for the Nerazzurri to foster the virtuous cycle composed of revenue growth, cost control and high-level performance on the pitch. The new board of directors is deeply committed to this goal, ensuring all the club’s components receive the right support, as also demonstrated by the recent capital increase granted by Oaktree. The club is focused on growing revenue streams, with particular focus on the American market, which is showing an increasing passion for our sport.

In recent years, Inter have returned to where the club deserves to be on the European and global stage. The Nerazzurri have once again taken huge strides forward in the UEFA Champions League. After impressively reaching the final in 2023, our journey ended in the round of 16 in 2024. The goal is to improve, remembering that we will be one of two Italian clubs competing in the new Club World Cup.

A winning DNA, the pursuit of excellence, innovation, a strong connection with Italy and our city, determination, and a sense of belonging are the hallmarks of the Nerazzurri identity, which the club has been able to convey and express even off the pitch. The Inter brand is becoming more and more iconic beyond sport, through events, initiatives, products and content, allowing Inter to speak directly to fans worldwide in a constant and meaningful dialogue.

Sporting success, revenue growth and a focus on shared values are all elements that come together under the Nerazzurri colours and would not be possible without the dedication of everyone at this magnificent club. I believe it is fitting to thank our coach Simone Inzaghi and his entire team, our CEO Corporate Alessandro Antonello, and Vice President Javier Zanetti, as well as my close colleagues, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin. I must also acknowledge the significant growth of the management and staff at Inter Women at national level, along with our invaluable youth sector, which is a jewel in our crown. Last season, our male youngsters were proclaimed Italian champions at U14 and U13 level while our female U17 side enjoyed domestic success.

One of the key factors for Inter’s future development is undoubtedly the creation of a new club-owned stadium. The hard work and commitment by our shareholder have given fresh impetus to this project and we hope the process is heading in the right direction. Meanwhile, Oaktree is paying great attention to enhancing our infrastructure, starting with the BPER Training Centre in Appiano Gentile and the KONAMI Youth Development Centre, with plans in place for investments in both this season to meet the modern needs of a top club.

With a great sense of responsibility, we are ready to uphold our commitment to the society in which we operate. We are aware of the leadership role that Inter plays within the elite sports sector in Italy and Europe and of the need to always provide a positive model for those who look up to us, especially the young people who follow us and admire their footballing idols.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support.

Forza Inter!

Nah, direct translation is that we're stuck with what we have.

We cannot sell Correa, cannot offload Arnautovic and we have no intention of selling Asllani to get someone better in his position, since we'll need more money than we're getting and we'd like the opposite to be true.

If there's a chance at letting Correa and Arnautovic go, which I don't see, we're gonna get someone in the winter.

Marotta gives advice to Inzaghi, identifies biggest football ‘challenge’

Marotta received the Nils Liedholm in Cuccaro Monferrato on Tuesday morning.
“Liedholm and his colleagues experienced a football that had great consideration of human values, and there wasn’t the same pressure as today,” said the Nerazzurri president, as quoted by TMW.

“Liedholm was distinguished by peace, tranquillity, and ironic jokes, but today’s football is characterised by continuous pressure.

“There are endless and enormous controversies over a denied penalty. My advice to Inzaghi, a young coach who is constantly developing, is to gain the calmness and peace of Liedholm.”
Nordics are cold blooded by nature, more chill than temperamental. That's an impossible to achieve advice for Demone 😅

Marotta also spoke about the future of football and the biggest challenges for the beautiful game.
“The key word is sustainability. The patronage mechanism no longer exists,” he insisted.

“This is proved by the fact that, luckily, foreign owners manage Milanese clubs; 60% of revenues come from TV rights, and we must sell a product to the fans. They are clients, and nowadays, young people struggle to watch an entire match. Therefore, the challenge is to create a better product.”
Yeah, 6 seconds attention span..

Marotta: Conte a ‘great communicator’, Dumfries-Anguissa contact ‘was a penalty’
“I believe technology improves things, reducing errors,” Marotta told reporters during the ceremony for the Niels Liedholm awards - quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Regarding what happened on Sunday and Conte’s remarks—he’s an intelligent person and a great communicator, who certainly has his purpose when he speaks.

“I must say the referee was very close to the action. So there was definitely physical contact, the foot was displaced, and in my opinion, it was a penalty.

“If there’s a need to discuss a better use of VAR in terms of protocol, that’s part of a constructive debate that should happen within the football system.”
Gr8 communicator, not tactician 😜

Marotta on Scaroni’s provocation: ‘I hope Milan can get their second star soon’ 😆

Marotta also responded to Paolo Scaroni’s playful provocation, as Milan Charmain said the Rossoneri are the only ‘real team’ in the city.
“It depends on your perspective,” Marotta joked.

“If he represents the only team in Milan, perhaps we represent something even greater.

I don’t want to stir up controversy, Paolo is a friend, and everyone tries to elevate their own club, calling it the best. I hope Milan can get their second star soon.”
TrollLOL 😆🔪😎

Shouldve signed Pulisic when Milan did for what 15-20 mil? There arent many american players left worth a shit. I would take Tyler Adams as a holding mid behind Calha if its true were dumping asllani. Reyna has no position here and not sure anyone else is good enough. Aaronson the same. Busio will 100% be the one they sign.

Kinda off topic but I would just kindly mention that Jonathan David was born in Brooklyn, New York City - so has American citizenship. Let's not settle for half-assed solutions.

Pulisic doesn't have a position in our system either. He isn't a forward, he certainly isn't a midfielder so where do you play him? Wingback? He could pull it off at Dortmund pre injuries but i don't think he can do it anymore. He would struggle physically.

As for Gio Reyna, i know he's still young and Americans still have hopes he can come good but let's be honest. He is done at top level. Any potential he had (pretty high imo) was utterly ruined by injuries. We're gonna remember him as one of football what ifs.

Born there, his parents moved at three months of age to Haiti, later settled in Canada and plays for their national team. He might have American citizenship but he doesn't identify as American.

Marotta: ‘Inter obliged to go for maximum in Italy and Europe’

President Beppe Marotta reiterates that ‘a club like Inter cannot settle for less’ than challenging to win the Serie A title and the Champions League before their visit to Lazio.
“This evening it is above all important to evaluate the performance. We are only 16 rounds in, so the challengers for the title remain the same as when the season began,” Marotta told DAZN.
“It is important for us to see a response, the players are aware of that and we expect a wonderful game of football.”

Inter have a game in hand and are defending the Scudetto that they won last season, but have notably beaten only Atalanta in the head-to-head clashes so far. Considering they are the reigning title holders, must Inter aim to win the Scudetto and Champions League this season?
“It is our DNA to compete for every tournament that we are in, so naturally we will try to achieve the maximum result, therefore the Champions League Final and Scudetto. That is an obligation to go for it,” replied Marotta.
“If other teams are stronger, we will tip our hats to them, but a club like Inter cannot aim for the minimum result or settle for less.”

Lautaro Martinez has not found the net for six weeks and the frustration is starting to get to last year’s Serie A Capocannoniere.
“The lad is naturally suffering that he isn’t scoring as much as last season, but the team overall has rarely failed to find the net,” confessed Marotta.
“If our captain can be added to the list of scorers, then naturally it becomes easier to achieve a result.”

Team went on to score 6 but without any contribution from Lautaro..

Marotta: ‘Atalanta are the hare, Inter the hunters’ in Scudetto chase

La Dea are top of the Serie A table after an all-time club record run of 10 consecutive victories, although the Nerazzurri are three points behind with a game in hand.

While Atalanta have been eager to shrug off the added pressure of being considered title contenders, Marotta is content to pile that back on them.
Atalanta are a worldwide example of a winning and virtuous club model,” said the Inter chief at the Gazzetta Sports Awards in Genoa this evening.
“There are teams who have different characteristics, but Atalanta have gained a winning mentality now and that is no mean feat. I trust they will be able to handle the pressures that will come during the season.
They are the hare and we are the hunters. I maintain they are among the prime candidates to win the Scudetto.”

Marotta sees Atalanta, Inter and Napoli in for a long race

Simone was a player first and therefore knows the dynamics of the locker room. He ought to be considered among the best coaches out there, as he has matured and gathered a great deal of experience since coming to us, which means he is always prepared,” added Marotta.

Antonio Conte is the other main challenger in his first season on the Napoli bench and is currently in second place.
Conte is a great professional who has won so much in his career and that gives him a head start compared to other situations. Conte, Inzaghi and Gasperini all live for this beautiful sport.”
Typical statement to put the spotlight on the others

I think the fiscal security of the club is more important that statement signings so if they can reduce the debt and still pick up Marotta-style free-signings/players with potential then i havent got a problem. I totally trust Beppe's judgement.
Better than lying about the clubs situation or getting a vile Oil Barons money.

Sometimes it feels like some fans would rather win CL and have another decade of financial problems and banter years than actually doing it slowly and be financially healthy for the next decade.

It's the only way for us, at least under Marotta's leadership. We already almost won CL and EL since Marotta came here. Most big clubs didn't even see a European final in 15 years. We've seen 3.
