If you look at the work he has done at other clubs I can't imagine he really enjoys working for PSG. Yeah you got unlimited budget but he was a master to work with an limited budget and spotting ''new wonderkids''. Not try and get the next global superstar, it's way different. He was even linked to Ajax a year ago so that shows that he doesn't care what budget he has but that he wants a challenge.

There are a lot of news and gossip about him -- he apparently also consulted for Celta and Galatasaray, but his main gig seems to be PSG as he spends most of his time there and is always in the stands during their games. He's clearly in demand but it wouldn't make sense to deduce he wants to work somewhere just because he was linked to work there.

He is doing a similar job at PSG -- they signed players like Ekitike and Vitinha for the future. He has a special relationship with Mbappe from his time at Monaco. They pushed hard for Endrick but lost out to Real Madrid. Of course, they'll also go for star players in order to compete at the highest levels, but there is a clear change in strategy, where they blend the stars with their academy talent and other wonderkids.

I’m at the point whether I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. On one hand I think he would be helpful in an ownership change situation (knows the league and politics).

On the other hand we’ve made so many clown decisions lately. The main sponsorship, perisic-skriniar contracts, selling Hakimi, loaning Lukaku, Correa… he’s not exactly crushing it.

He makes the final decision on who gets bought and likely has to approve any budget for scouting assignments. Also he is the one who likes to mention serie a experience.

Perhaps it’s not his call ultimately but partnering with these dodgy crypto companies is/ was beyond idiotic. As CEO I don’t see how Marotta isn’t at least somewhat responsible. He should know better and steer the club away.

There aren't any visible issues between players other than some contract related stuff which is mostly channeled towards disliking the management.

The only friction we have is between the uncertainty players feel and that's the doing of the management, financial problems or not.

Whatever our issues are, the management has a budget to operate with and they fucked it up, which only makes things worse.

I always appreciate Marotta, from his Sampdoria days to Juventus and to our championship.
I understand also what he is trying to do in our financial desaster. Trimming slowly the payroll fat but in the same time keeping the team competitive enough sucking CL money. With the hope that we slowly came out from the Covid hole.
But his strategy has one fundamental weakness, who makes the strategy impossible.
Scouting and developing!!!! We need to find young players who fly under the radar. Our scouting system is shit (Ausilio and co. are as useful as a fart). And also Limone is not developing or giving playing time to young players at all. Tonali in the first year at Milan played more than 1300 minutes and he was injured for a while. Asllani player only 260m until now. In this rhythm Asllani will have like 600 minutes for the whole year. You cannot develop a plyer with such few minutes. It`s impossible.
Without scouting and developing it is impossible to keep up competitive.

Pretty boring interview to be honest. Just saying for someone from Italian province like him working at Juve and Inter is a dream come true and talking about his interest in politics when his career at footballing industry is over.

I just dont see where you get that he royally screwed up from... Again i m not a marotta fan bu go check the squad he took over vs the current squad and tell me how he fucked up? Also we won our first serie a our first coppa and our first super coppa in 10 years under him but he royally fucked up?

Inter director Beppe Marotta refuses to comment on the recent Juventus scandal and rules out a return to the club, revealing that one of the leading Italian politicians, supporting Southampton, has been trolling him because of Carlos Alcaraz.

The Nerazzurri CEO released an interview with Il Corriere della Sera and was asked his thoughts on the chaos surrounding his ex-club Juventus, who have been docked 15 points for financial irregularities.

Inter director Beppe Marotta insists he respects Milan Skriniar’s decision not to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri, joining PSG as a free agent and defends Romelu Lukaku.

The Slovakia international will not sign a contract extension with Inter, leaving for PSG as a free agent in the summer. There were reports that the Ligue 1 giants tried to sign the 27-year-old in the January window, but Inter refused to sell for €10m.

“I don’t want discuss the details, I see the big picture” Marotta told Sportmediaset before tonight’s Coppa Italia game with Atalanta.
“The world of football is changing continuously, there are no more clubs’ legends and players can change club very quickly. We must become accustomed to this kind of football, which is far from a romantic view of the game.
“Obviously, this is not something we and our fans enjoy, but are dealing with professionals here. Skriniar made a choice and it was his right to do so, so we must respect it.
“We have no doubts about his professionalism and the seriousness he’s always proved. He will be able to prove with facts that he is up to the task with this jersey.”

Inter fans, who had bagged Skriniar to stay at the club less than a month ago, put up a new banner at the Stadio Meazza tonight telling players and club directors that ‘Inter must be love and respected.’

Skriniar is not even on the bench and is watching the match against Atalanta from the stands, while Romelu Lukaku starts. The Belgium international has been struggling with injuries this season and this is only the fifth match he plays from the beginning.

“He is not 100% fit, but in terms of commitment and motivation, he’s been impeccable. For this reason, we can only make a positive assessment of the player, hoping he returns being the one we all know” concluded Marotta.
