Correa came because Marotta failed to get a replacement for Lukaku other than Dzeko. He failed to get 6-7 players and then we got Correa. Stop putting this on Inzaghi, if he was a priority he'd be here from mid July, not the last week of August.
You maybe correct, we just don't know what the hell goes on in the ownership, management and coach meetings regarding transfers, loan and purchases. Whatever, we know for certain is that Inter's financial situation drives everything. Hence the entire disconnect between the players, management, ownership and the fans. Unfortunately, it probably won't get any better in the foreseeable future.

Nope, we paid full price.
Manchester United are demanding a sum of €85 million for the 26-year-old striker whilst Inter have made a first offer totalling €60 million. source
We eventually paid 74 million, which is not full price!

To recap: Marotta failed to bring him, Juventus beat us to it, their deal collapsed and then Marotta paid what United was demanding from the get go.
No we paid less than what they asked initially, see above, I provided a link unlike you. Marotta didn't fail, it was a long lasting process, since we weren't buying biscuits. You have to negotiate, offer the maximum low price, wait until they make up their mind. Study your BATNA, act accordingly, wait until you reach ZOPA (Basics of the Negotiation course you can take at any Business School or Corsera for free). That all takes time.

Well, he tried to sell him for 90m to Chelsea but Lukaku initially said no. They upped their offer to both us and Lukaku and he was a goner.
The OPening bid was not 90M, look:

romano.png

Easy to do once you manage to get a 100m striker to be worth 10m within 2 months.
He was never worth 50M. No club was willing to sign him due to known facts about him and his wife. We didn't receive any offer close to that price.

Silly speculations with no substance.
like what? you mean it didn't happen? wasn't Wanda talking shit about Inter players on media? are you going to deny that?

As for what actually happened:

First official contact with Chelsea took place around those days.
Bid came a few days later. Inter wanted to sell, Lukaku said no.
Then Chelsea upped their offer to Lukaku and he wanted to go.

We sold him for €115, so please tell me how it's possible to negotiate down from a supposed 130m offer to 115m... Does Coursera explain that in their Good Negotiations topic?

P.S. It was £74m, which corresponds to €80m.

There was also a small % that goes to Manchester United so we probably paid 84-85m for him after his sale to Chelsea.
Yes, the base fee was 65m but you're fooling yourself if you think we didn't meet most of those silly clauses that took the deal to 80+.

I don't know who Simon Stone is, but I am taking the numbers from transfermarkt's website - Here

lol, why are you purposefully selecting the higher end of the range? that's Romano's guess. The fact is, we bought him for 74M EUR and sold for 113M, that's roughly 40M profit, just like I stated initially.

P.S. It was £74m, which corresponds to €80m.
No, it's in EUR, look at the screen. Even then, their asking price was 85M, not 80. You said we paid what they asked at the beginning which wasn't the case. He managed to lower the asking price by 5M if we are to believe your source. But an official source states we paid 74M EUR.

If the base was 65M but we ended up paying 85M like you suggest, then it's 30% - that's a lot of add-ons. I hardly believe it.

BBC Sport. They almost never get ot wrong.

You decide whether or not Romano's numbers are accurate.
Is it proof or a guess after all?

What official source?

Why?
Base just means minimum guaranteed, it doesn't mean that's what you pay and cannot expect to pay a cent more.
It's there for convenience's sake, not as the valuation figure.

If I buy an old commercial place for 2m and spend 500k to renovate and have to give the previous owner 20% of the next 48 months' rent, the cost is not 2m, it's whatever the end amount is. I cannot go around saying I got a steal for 2m.

Even if you want to pretend that I'm wrong about Marotta-Lukaku, I cannot also be wrong about Marotta-Barella, Marotta-Eriksen, Marotta-Barbosa sale, Marotta-Bremer debacle etc. You know that shit and you're less biased to take it in because apparently you cannot envisage this being the case with Romelu. This shit happens with Marotta a lot. Lukaku is just the most high profile case of them all.

Brehme you are totally wrong. You said that we'll stuck with Lukaki and the other of Conte's recuits as nobody will want them, once Conte is gone. We actually sold Lukaki and Hakimi for huge profit. And we are stuck with players like Correa, which is Inzaghi's request. I don't see you criticizing the latter same way how you did with Conte.
Meanwhile I'm still waiting for Cabral to explode 😁

Well, we've managed to get stuck with Lukaku for some reason and Hakimi wasn't a "Conte recruit". Thats was actually Lazaro. Still around last I checked.

Correa was never the first choice of the club or coach and did not come to be a starter. Why would I have the same expectations or demands?

Cabral is a good player that needs some time to adjust and the role he is occupying doesn't really suit him. A similar case with Gabriel Barbosa but with less pressure on him. I don't care if he explodes or not, I'd rather pay 10m for him than 35m for fucking Abraham who's missing a sitter after sitter and can mostly score with his dick or knee if it isn't his head which is one of the few things he does well.

I love how you came to defend someone here who suggests that Marotta managed to negotiate down an incoming bid from 120-130 to 113 when I'm saying that he managed to milk 20-25m more

Abraham could have been easily sold to EPL for more than 45+ mln. Cabral not. And Hakimi was player brought exactly for Conte's system, therefore he should have been unsellable according to your understanding. Lazaro is Conte's request as same as Hakimi was. I don't care if Correa is back up or not. The fact is that we paid 30mln for his useless services.

Let’s see how the Skriniar situation unfolds. If he goes in January for less than the summer rumoured amount, then it will be a huge fail by Marotta not just a small one.

He needs to sell Skriniar in January for 20M and bring back Rano for free... Grande Marotta!

Where did I say that the 3-5-2 can only be played by useless & unsellable players?
Heck, I even said it's one of my two favorite formations in football. If done right.

What do you call spending 65M€ on Lazaro and Correa? Or 10M€ on golden handshakes to aging players?

Anyone can run a club with an unlimited budget. While our financial situation is dire you can't say Marotta is getting the most out of it.
You think Marotta wanted Correa?

Correa is a collective fail, management, coach and the player.

But we need to give them some slack, it wasn't an easy position. It was August already and we had tried other targets first which didn't pan out (at least Zapata, Thuram, dunno if there were others).

Still, given the price, Correa has been nothing but an enormous flop.

I don't understand why you say this, you are perfectly aware that certain coaches ask for a certain players, now you are telling me that all of a sudden Marrota chose Correa without Inzaghi?
Marottas fail is our sales, but not Correa.
Inzaghi doesn't have the ability to sign players. Marotta is his boss. If he doesn't want to sign a player Inzaghi suggests, all he has to do is tell him no. Sincerely, Mancini begging for Yaya Toure.

I dont really know what does inzaghi and the management want from correa.. I see his record in serie a and he iirc never scored more that 2 digit a season in serie a that mean scoring is not his strong point..
