He’s not, Kounde was one of the fastest players in La Liga in 2023. Quick google search shows he’s about 1 km/h faster.

That doesn't really mean much as no one expects these guys to sprint the pitch 5 times and back. It's all about who's faster in the short burst of sprint for 10-20 meters and I don't feel Kounde is faster than Pavard in that regard. Whether or not he gets the edge on a 60m or 80m or 100m dash is irrelevant as it'd almost never come to that on a duel.

And even if Kounde is faster, it's pretty much on par if it's just 1km/hr (over a sample of 60m dash I imagine).

Either way, they could play together by benching Upamecano.
