I will ask admins here. Why my support for Kamala Harris, current VP of our country was removed from my signature profile. I'm not engaging anyone, not having political debates of any sort, but I feel my basic rights have been violated here. We can't even show support of our chosen candidate? Mind you, not engaging anyone politically here..
Why are you showing political support on a football forum? Go join r/Democrat if you want to show your support.

I don’t speak for the mods, but political content is just annoying when it creeps into everyday life. I personally revel in political discussions, but I wouldn’t want to see it here. For the most part, it just brings out the worst in people.

Presumably you wouldn’t want to log in and see MAGA slogans and Q-Anon conspiracy theories when discussing football. Politics just poisons everything it touches. The most healthy form of politics is when it’s almost invisible. Keeping it virtually invisible on FIF is the healthiest course of action.

Even though I live over a dozen time-zones away, I’m still forced to stress about the US election way more than I want to. I don’t want it permeating on FIF.
I support my VP and that is my signature. I don't care if other people support their candidates. Again, I'm not discussing politics. Not sure where you live, but here in the states, half of cars carry their stickers on the bumpers during the election season. And no murder or violence over this. Stressing again, not engaging anyone in discussion here.

Don't tell my what to do. It's my profile and I have a right to show support of my chosen candidate.

You might not care seeing open support for political figures, but I assume many people would. By that measure, people should be allowed to display slogans for foreign dictators, some of whom may have caused the deaths of forum family members.

Just as an afterthought, the irony shouldn’t be lost that discussing toleration of politics is itself highly political.

No politics means no politics. An American politician has nothing to do with Inter. I've removed it (again) from your signature and if you add it back you'll receive an infraction.

Comparing our VP to a dictator:)

There should just be a political thread in Flamers, so that people can just argue and be dicks to others. At least it would stay in one place... and this ''it has nothing to do with inter'' stuff is pretty weird, cause 50% of the forum has nothing to do with inter.

I figured it was you, lifelong Republican. Anyways, I will remove it, but you guys are unfair at this.

David I’m not comparing Harris to a dictator. I’m saying if you should be free to support Harris, then others should be free to support dictators, which we don’t want.

It's not hard to figure out. We have an established rule against discussing politics, because we now have several instances over 20 years of people proving they cannot discuss politics without losing their minds and behaving like children.

So bringing up politicians, with no relation to the impact on Inter, isn't permitted.

I admire admins and moderators for the extent of their nerves and the ability to hold things together.
Having to explain to someone that putting a political candidate and directly your political opinion in your signature of your every post, is indeed related to politics, is something I could not imagine needing to be done. Especially on a football forum that is not in any way whatsoever related to said political candidate, the upcoming elections, nor is it of interest for the vast majority of users of said forum, aside from a few that are indeed interested in discussing politics. And, one could expect common sense to prevail that maybe there are some other forums more fitting for such discussion.

It was actually me who pointed it out to other mods and then we decided to remove it. And just to end any implication that mods punish content they don't agree with as it has already been mentioned few times on this thread. Personally i politically identify myself at centre-left and i definitely want democrats to win. Not that it really interests anyone. But this isn't the place to show our political support. No politics allowed means no politics. Without asterisks or exceptions. I understand if you don't agree with it and you feel you have been silenced but these are forum rules and you need to respect them, like the rest of us.

Mods simply act based on forum rules and guidelines. Nothing more, nothing less. We may make mistakes (i made a big one recently myself) but i can assure you there's no bias in our actions.

no one here gives a fuck about your political affiliations - go to reddit or somewhere where someone gives a crap. this is a football forum for discussing football related things

(i realise that might come across as addressed at il drago, it isnt)

also what is it with some americans and feeling the need to impose their opinions on everyone in the world. I'm surprised the phrase 'first amendment' hasnt been uttered yet.

I really don't think making broad generalizations about Americans is the solution to our problems, mate.

What's happening with the forum lately 😅.. How did it come to this, this is quite depressing tbh.

Is it because there are no matches and people are bored?

Just an idea for the mods/admins, edit and update the forum rules page.

Way back in the days when I read the rule about not being allowed to trash inter if you're not a fan, I chuckled, it's such a smart and funny thing to point out... Sadly now there should be rules about politics ON A FOOTBALL FORUM BECAUSE... Ill stop here.

ffs...
