10 years of FIFIt's really frustrating that so many people don't realize when they've gone too far. What's worse is that most of us aren't teenagers - we're adults, and maybe some of us are parents. This makes it even more unacceptable. How can you be a functioning grown up and yet be so clueless about how dumb you sound, not by accident, but on purpose? It's disappointing and just plain wrong.
Labeling people as "soft" or "woke" because you feel entitled to make comments designed to poke fun at or intentionally offend someone, doesn't make you a "bad ass" or "fearless" or free speech warrior... This behavior isn't just childish, it's damaging to any kind of respectful conversation.
Sometimes i really believe in order to really get the point across, I need to give examples. Maybe then, those who make these remarks will understand how stupid they sound. But even then, I doubt it. Nothing said on this forum will make these people "grow up." And that's really sad.
This isn't about being "politically correct", it's about basic human decency.

I will ask admins here. Why my support for Kamala Harris, current VP of our country was removed from my signature profile. I'm not engaging anyone, not having political debates of any sort, but I feel my basic rights have been violated here. We can't even show support of our chosen candidate? Mind you, not engaging anyone politically here..

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFI don’t speak for the mods, but political content is just annoying when it creeps into everyday life. I personally revel in political discussions, but I wouldn’t want to see it here. For the most part, it just brings out the worst in people.
Presumably you wouldn’t want to log in and see MAGA slogans and Q-Anon conspiracy theories when discussing football. Politics just poisons everything it touches. The most healthy form of politics is when it’s almost invisible. Keeping it virtually invisible on FIF is the healthiest course of action.
Even though I live over a dozen time-zones away, I’m still forced to stress about the US election way more than I want to. I don’t want it permeating on FIF.
