Andrea Bandini

February 16 1994, Wing Back.
This season's primavera captain.

At Inter since he was 8yo (!!!): http://giovanili.inter.it/aas/squadra?stagione=2002/03&IDS=11&L=en

His brother Simone player for our Allievi Nazionali, he's a defender too. They are definitely a nerazzurri family, that was what his dad said after he was called up against Rubin: "Sinceramente non essendomi ancora ripreso dall'emozione della prima convocazione del mio pargolo, ritengo non dovreste infierire ulteriormente.....manca solo che oltre a vederlo nella lista dei convocati me lo ritrovi in quella di coloro che scendono in campo......il mio vecchio cuore nero azzurro potrebbe avere serie difficoltà a sopportare il momento....."

I was impressed with what little time Bandini had tonight. He really seems like a very solid right back. His adventures forward were good this time, too, buying space well. Good debut.

hope to see more of him soon, i love the fact that some kids that we take on at 8/9 are now getting the chance to show themselves for inter.

I'd love to see him play more aswell, but it seems as the club is looking elsewhere, I'm getting kinda pissed about this (I imagine you've been feeling this way for a long time now :p ) why talk about a new club direction aimed at young players and then completely ignore our talented Primavera players?

Playing them a couple of times as substitutes isn't good enough, look at what Milan did with De Sciglio, they gave him no.2 shirt and clearly stated he was going to play as a starter, he's now one of the best fullbacks in the league. Just trust those who are really talented and ready, imo Garritano and Bandini are 1st team material. I hope we don't send them out on loans.

well, i dont know if bandini or garritano are on that level yet - in principle i have no objection to the serie B loaning mechanism - but people like Biraghi, Duncan, CLEARLY ARE on the level ready for serie a if not inter

Ya I agree with Browha more on this. Not many players can come out of the Primavera and step right into to Serie A, much less Inter. Loaning players is fine, but we actually have to believe in our players and bring them back if they perform on loan. Duncan needs to be playing Serie A next year, either with us or Livorno (if they get promoted). If he continues to excel than we bring him back. We need to be using this "free" resource better. If you look at the top club teams, lets take the CL semi finalists for example, only one team (Real Madrid) doesn't rely heavily on their youth sector.

Our youth team has been on par with other the elite academies for a while now. We need to start seeing returns. A functioning youth system allows for long term stability in terms of quality product on the field.

Duncan - as an example - was someone we brought in probably for ~free, (Longo cost us 70k), and he's getting MOTM sometimes in Serie B, in the number 2 side. That is a big fucking achievement.

Maybe he's not ready to start week in week out for us, but he's clearly ready for a mid tier Serie A side, and as a rotation player for us. If he had the minutes of Kuz+Mudingayi+Stankovic, he'd learn an awful lot.

I thought Biraghi disappeared forever after scoring that goal against Man City in a friendly a few years back. He's doing we'll at Cittadella is he?

well his first season in serie b wasnt a classic - but then, he was like 18 at the time, we cant expect too much. This season, though, by all accounts he's not far off being in team of the season, and he's aiming to be a serie a regular next season.
