Football does not work in a linear way. Just because we failed to win the past few matches doesn't mean we are going to continue this path till the end of season. Our results against top and small teams have been very unpredictable this season, so it's ridiculous we go on and be sure what will be the outcome of this season based on certain results in the past fixtures.
I agree, but form is a somewhat real construct, and I dont see anything that suggests the form inverts tbh. Of course you're right and we should all hope it does, and 1 win out of 6 doesnt mean we will only win 1.66 games in the next 10 (or whatever), but it just doesnt really fill anyone with confidence I think its fair to say? Also, the gravity of the situation and how critical it is for us to finish top 4, means for me at least, I have very little confidence right now in Inzaghi achieving that. If we were just out of our hardest run of games, for example, then it's a different story, but of the 10 remaining games 3 are directly against top 4 rivals.

I think there's a real chance we end up 6th, behind Juve, maybe even 7th behind Atalanta.

I dunno, I really hope not, but never in our history has so much of this club depended on a top 4 finish probably? And I've never felt so unconfident in the team, and the management, who are being asked to step up to that challenge.

I think burying our head in the sand and ignoring the ramifications of it doesnt help anyone.

We've won 1 of the last 6? serie A games, including dropping very important points against Spezia, Salernitana, Fiorentina.

In 3 of our last 10 games we've got Napoli, Roma, Lazio, too. It's going to be a really tough run in, and nothing I see in this team so far inspires me to our ability to rise to the occasion.

The other side of that coin, of course, is all of our top 4 rivals are in good to great form... So the bad things are happening at the worst possible time for us, and the best possible time for them.
All our rivals are in good form. Sure about that? Besides the napoli game milan has been almost as bad as us.

If we sell Dumfries for 40M, we only get around 30M of plusvalenza. And that's already highly unlikely.
Think it's closer to 35m. Depends if it's recorded in June or July/August.

Our boy looked like prime Chiellini (ignoring the fact he was rubentino). 3-5-2 absolutely suits him for the opportunity to move forward and use his technique and passing, I really dont think he would work in a back 4.
As good as his match was if we are to switch to a back 4 I would cash in big on him.

I agree, he won't look as good in 4-man defence. He doesn't get to make marauding forward runs without worry like he can do now.

Disagree entirely, football is evolving. Look at how City play Ake as a LB but he plays more like a LCB in the build up.

You do not sell a player like Bastoni under any circumstances. That simple really

Playing 3 matches against our direct rivals could both ways, either benefit us or screw us.

Minus Napoli, all the other teams have been wasteful this season, so my hope does not just lie on Inter winning every single match. We just need to get back to the winning days against Monza and stop losing stupid points here and there. That way our chance of finishing in the top 4 will be the same as our rivals.

Not even our most pessimist members thought we lose as many points as we did in the past weeks, but small details went against us in those matches and small details could go in our favor in the next matches. Nothing out of this world for this team to achieve.

Let's hope so, because the disaster that results of not being in the top 4 is a real issue :)

Yes maybe as the LB he can do fine in 4-man defence.

Maybe not as often but he can still do it... Think lucio...
Anyways i dont see any problem with him as a cb in a 4 man defense it really is a luxury problem quite sure the dude can adapt.

That was a pathetic approach of defending on the goal. You don't just give up that easy, especially how the match was going through constant tension while we were chasing the result. Like I said, our team looks like they completely given up on the league matches. It's crystal clear. It's only us, fans, that we value the importance of these points lost.

I thought he was clumsy throughout the match, not only while he lost Caldirola on the goal. He looked way too reckless with and without the ball. And it was not only him, but also the usual Mkhi errors in the dangerous zone and ect.

Yeah that was just unacceptable. He fucking gave up marking Caldirola the second ball started flying. You can't be leading defender acting like that, and you can't demand leading defender salary if you don't act like a leading defender.

Amazing, from MOTM to utter disappointment in less than a week. Frankly, it's becoming apparent that the monies your asking for is way out of line.

Left-sided centre-backs are in demand, with Manchester City and Manchester United keeping a watchful eye over Inter's Alessandro Bastoni. The Italy defender nearly joined Tottenham last summer. (Fichajes)
