How Inter can think of getting Lukaku and/or Dybala & at the same time say we need to sell Bastoni to make ends meet? Its ridiculous, irresponsible & just a gimmick to fool fans.

You first keep your young stars who are interisti at heart. Then you see what budget you have left. #SuningOut

I'm pretty sure I could sell Bastoni for 60M within 24 hours of being named sporting director.

I'm pretty sure I would tell Spurs & City to fuck off & get sacked by Suning for it within 24 hours of being named sporting director. You don't sell an interista.

Marotta is under the illusion he can still build a competitive squad that can fight for titles even with Suning demands.

He can't keep his best players while he also can't sign highly rated youngsters. So what does he do? He turns to quality (or so he believes) experienced players with low transfer fee hoping they can make team competitive. But this thing isn't functional. Even if you manage to fight for the title next season it's not going to work long term.

With the way ownership treats the club we aren't a top club anymore. We are a selling club and we need to act accordingly. No more signing veterans but instead sign youngsters who can raise value of the squad and bring future profits. We need to find gems with peanuts and sell them high. This is the future of Inter under Suning and Marotta and Ausilio need to adjust else they're unfit for the job.

Yep.

The entire affair is mishandled from start to finish. Every fuckwit out there knows we need exactly €60m and that we're too incompetent to raise this money without selling one of our crown jewels.

He will be sold for something pathetic like 50m + 10m bonuses, count on it. Never viewed Marotta as a god like many here seem to but I am increasingly unimpressed with the way he's handled recent management issues.
Juventus will then buy him in 2025 and he’ll become a club icon, winning numerous trophies in the process and cement himself as one of the best CB’s in the world.

We were one win away from Scudetto this season if you didn't notice.

We definitely can scramble with these mercatos. It's not indeed gonna work long-term but we keep trying to win as long as Zhangs are here. They aren't going to go for some rebuild BS. Marotta and Ausilio are doing what the ownership has ordered them to do.

From Marotta's point of view, it is a Catch-22. We need top 4 to stay financially afloat, so he is trying to achieve that by spending as little as possible, as you said by turning to low-risk older players. Signing younger talent that is unproven on a bigger stage increases sporting and financial risk for the club (as younger players are naturally pricier). If we commit to signing young players on low fees, then that massively increases the risk of building a squad that isn't competitive for top 4. On the other hand, our current financial situation under Suning is not sustainable and big sales are constantly required, so the squad is naturally not stable. Signing older players (and neglecting the need to sign younger talent) only increases the volatility of our squad on top of the big sales required to cover the books. It also limits the players in the squad who have any resale value, which makes it more likely for us to lose our most important players.

We were one win away from the scudetto THIS season, would've won if we had better depth (more money) but this model insures that the squad gets weaker each year you implement this kind of strategy. We were one win away this season but next it could be a lot more, then the next, then the next, etc.

Fck Lukaku … I don’t want him back especially when we need to sell Bastoni. Why should we spend our little money (from selling Bastoni?) to take back the guy who jumped the ship at the first chance while we force young players who loves the club like Bastoni and Skriniar to leave? Omg i hate Suning so much, why the Ultras don’t do anything? So strange… are they really Ultras? Pls make our voice heard. And while the club is selling our best players, season tickets are being sold like crazy. Wtf!!!
I don’t see any Inter legends criticize Suning and give them some pressure to sell the club or find other solution, everyone keeps silence… Suning has no pressure… just keep milking the club.

It’d be heartbreaking if we sell Bastoni, he’s the last player I’d want to sell in this squad, gonna stop following Inter until Suning fck off because they only bring more and more depression.

Great post.

I said this in the whatsapp chat but the lack of creativity and the absurdly unimaginative transfer business is just shocking.

As you said, we're largely limiting ourselves to experienced free agents or other low cost options. That's one thing, but it's as if Marotta stopped following football in 2015 and doesn't know any footballers outside of his shortlist of the same garbage names.

Fucking Bernardeschi? :palm: you just know we'll be looking at Pjanic next.

It's also completely incompatible with the clubs alleged goal of becoming self sustainable. If we need to sell in order to make ends meet, we need to increase the amount of saleable assets we have by developing young players. That's a nice way of saying, if we are now a selling club, we need to buy players who we can actually profit from. Despite the perceived short-term "stability" and "reliability" of "experienced" players, there's no profit to be made there.

If we only buy old fucks, we're going to have to sacrifice, at minimum, one core player per season. 12 months ago we had a core of Lukaku, Lautaro, Barella, Brozovic, Bastoni, Skriniar and Hakimi. Already 2 of them are gone and another is on the way out. The list is rapidly dwindling. How long can this continue before we have literally no young player to build the squad on?

The damn thing is like Inter is in peripheral holding patttern, waiting for a miracle e.g. the super duper league or some outrageous offer to buy the club. I love Inter but damn't, thinking that Lukaku is going to guarantee a CL position boarders on insanity.

Getting the increasingly likely feeling Bastoni will be sold for 50, and Zhang demands we sell another star for 60 in order to hit the goal.

He is on sale because Inzaghi asked to do so. He never used him as a key player in defense. He preferred Dimarco. I know we have to sell someone and that someone could have been Dumfries, De Vrij or Skriniar or someone else. But Inzaghi made his choice. I don't believe in this shit that Inzaghi works with whatever the management signs for him. He has his say on that just like Conte or any other coach does, it just he prefers to be silent and have the management receive the fans hate.

We need to start convincing our core players to stay, that there's still a future with title challenges here. That Inzaghi stays along with the main men. To say this to Bastoni that he can reject London too. Obv we need to serve this to Basti under the table, so that Lambo Stevie won't hear this on the media. Lauti, Barella, Skriniar are perfectly fine here, Brozo extended til he retires( or maybe US In the end) We should shop Hakan, DeVrij around for pluzvalenza, not our star young CB. If Bastoni is smart he knows first hand how Conte acts. He saw it last summer. Right now he's the new playtoy to hug you and parade you around London, but when the hissyfitting kicks in, he will leave you like like used prostitute to your neighbours, to whom pays him the most. When Conte leaves and he WILL leave, you are looking again at Europa League games. ManU is strenghtening with TenHag, Chelsea will too. Spurs will be spiralling in mediocrity again once the brains of Conte are off to PSG or smth.

He is on sale because he is easiest to be sold right now. How often do you find a young tall left-footed CB that is able to defend as well is able to build your offensive plays?

Yeah it was weird that he didn't play much in the Coppa Final, i thought he was having some physical problems or something but it may be true that Inzaghi prefers De Vrij over Bastoni......

Just read a report in Football.London, that ManU may also be interested in Bastoni.
