De Vrij: “Since the beginning of the year Bastoni kept saying we’d win the Scudetto”

Bastoni: “Eh, but once they signed me it was inevitable” :epicwin:

I absolutely Adore Bastoni, I honestly hate the "fav. player" part on the profile, I never know who to pick I have so many genuinely "favourite" players. BOSStoni is the #1 defender in Italy, for national and in serie A, he's just incredible in my eyes. I am not saying he plays flawless games or that he does not make mistakes, of course he does but for his age, his contribution, his skill in offence and defence.. he's just absolutely insane. Inter through and through as well, melts my heart. <3 Bastoni.

Seeing the interviews with the players, Bastoni seems the most like he knows exactly what to say to hype up Inter fans.

I'm happy we have him. It's rare to have such a young player playing in his position and being sooooo good. There's a few Serie A legends that started young (like Maldini) and he will become one of them if he continues like this.

Yeah there’s something special about Bastoni. I remember an interview they had on him a while back, before he went on loan to Parma (or when he was at Atalanta?). He was asked a specific question about defending as a team and instead of giving a by the books media answer like “oh it’s really hard” or “I’m glad I have the opportunity to get this experience” , he actually broke it down and started talking about tactics and player archetypes while citing his advantages and disadvantages in certain situations or against certain players. It just left an impression on me reading it that this kid obviously takes these things with him everywhere he goes. This was before we all saw that he also was able to translate it onto the pitch. We could be looking at a modern day generational talent in the making.

Bastoni is becoming what we had assumed Ranocchia would be.

What can a right guidance and healthy atmosphere do :)

Anyway, Happy as hell he is part of us. From all the young players we have, or even Serie A has, he seems to be handling pressure the best. In every aspect, off and on the pitch, he knows what and when to say, and he seems humble as well. Legend in the making.

IMO after Handa and Skriniar, it is HIM who should be considered as a captain, not Barella.

Bastoni agent said to Corriere dello Sport Inter have until the end of June to activate their agreement over his client extension which is active since February else the deal is off and they will discuss after July 1st under different terms. He was also very critical of Zhang request for paycuts.

IMHO the pay cuts and salaries should be different things

What I mean by that is that a number of our players are under paid - no doubt about it - and we should sign them to the extensions/salaries that are fair for them. Lautaro, Bastoni, Barella are obvious examples of that.

Then we should separately have the pay cut conversation - IMHO something like 2 months salary isnt unreasonable, for ONE SEASON only - at which point people revert back to their original rates.

But clearly peoplle like Bastoni are ridiculously underpaid now, and deserve to be compensated for what they do.

Don't have one.
Bastoni agent saying players shouldn't cut their salaries cus of how those measures were proposed, as basically first measures on the agenda and not the last. He is heavily suggesting that suning should first agree on loan with some of these vulture funds, cus apparently that's what is blocking renewal of bastoni new deal and many others.

Zhang is under immense pressure to resolve this, and I kinda get the players as well, they don't want to be a first battering ram when they already agreed on some payment postponements for inter to avoid penalties and also when you have an absent owner who just comes out of nowhere after several months and says you have to give two months of salary after everything, while at the same time everything is on wait regarding the deals with the funds. Doesn't sit well...Its like, you do your bit and maybe i do mine...

On other hand commitments were made before covid or most of them were so players should have more understanding...
Hopefully some compromise comes soon...

imho selling the club is still very likely. Now they've got the scudetto, triggered a number of bonuses, got CL Pot A, selling the club would be the right decision.

The problem is they're asking too much. No one is going to offer 1 billion in the times of covid.

Somebody is spilling the bees in public :eek:kay:

Agent: 'Bastoni wants to stay at Inter, but this behaviour is not good'

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti has slammed the Nerazzurri’s behaviour. ‘Things need to be done in a normal way’.

The 22-year-old’s has taken big steps in recent months and his representative reveals he reached an agreement over an improved deal four months ago.

But the Nerazzurri’s financial problems has stalled the signature and the agent doesn’t approve of the club’s behaviour.

“Another surprise,” Tinti told Il Corriere dello Sport. “For four months we have had an agreement with [CEO Beppe] Marotta, [sporting director Piero] Ausilio and [Alessandro] Antonello.

“Bastoni plays with the contract signed three years ago, despite the fact that he’s been a starter for two seasons and has been called up for the national team.

“There was a promise to bring the salary to a fair level and there was an understanding in February, with lots of confirmation e-mails exchanged.

“The only thing missing was for the President to return from China to formalise everything. Not later than Friday, I was informed that the renewal has not been skipped, but that we must wait for this loan that the club is negotiating to be signed.

“Honestly, this has never happened to me before.”

The agent stressed Bastoni wants to remain but doesn’t exclude the possibility of not renewing the deal.

“Bastoni has the shirt on because he’s an Interista,” he said. “He will respect the agreements because he still has a contract.

“If the club wants to renew at the agreed figures, OK. Otherwise, from July 1, things will change.

“I’ll be clearer: Bastoni and his agent are happy to stay at Inter, but things need to be done in a normal way, like in all other clubs.

“The moment is difficult, and we know it, but this behaviour is not good. If I had done such a thing, pulled back before signing, when everything was in place, Inter would have made an incredible mess.”

Can Bastoni tell his agent to shut tf up? He is pouring gasoline to fire. Just shut your mouth and work with Marotta Ausilio Zhang or whoever in charge.

Suning is wrong delaying their promise, but it does not grant him the rights to whine internal things in public. When Bastoni did sign a contract, we did not put a gun on his head to force him. He is obliged to respect whatever agreed.

He knows shit about contractual situation at other clubs.

He literally says they are waiting for the loan to be signed. If the loan was confirmed and things were still like this fair enough, but fuck up until its done.

Bastoni's agent and all other agents are no different than Wanda and this pandemic is clearly showing it. They've hyper-inflated salaries. There are people losing their jobs and homes all over the world and these guys are bitching about not get that 400,000 Euros over the next 2 months, meanwhile Joe at the local grocery store is lucky to make that amount over 30 years.

IMHO all footballers should take a pay cut, especially now. Zhang should be the first to renounce his wages, followed by everyone else in the office, that will show the players that want to stay that the team is unified in dealing with the financial issues.

This isn't solely on Suning. They lost sponsorship money due to the CCP restricting foreign investment, but Suning should have recognized this and should have taken the 880 million from BCP, but again they wanted 1 billion (I guess to recoup their 700m investment into the club). There are threats of a 4th wave of COVID and reports that the current vaccines don't protect against all the new variants. COVID will still be here this time next year. So do the players and agents care about the clubs that pay them, the sport that gives them a extremely health wage or do they not give a shit about anything but their dollar amount of their contracts.

This is not going to end well for Inter or for anyone for that matter.

Here we go again. Comparing footballers who are in the top percentile of one of the most coveted skillsets in the world to grocery store workers. If you think Bastoni makes a lot of money, what do you think Suning makes?
