He made a great tackle in the box at final quarter, mainly thanks to his agility

Hakimi has tremendous gifts and ability, but he's far from the best version of himself. For example-- his concentration, first touch, long crosses, and defending all need some work.

He's good enough to make up for some deficiencies (eg he doesn't necessarily need to have the best positioning as he's quick enough to track back on all but the fastest players). Still, his overall play leaves room for improvement.

In Dortmund there was more cover on the flanks and Hakimi had more freedom to drift inward. Here he has to be more tactically aware and be more selective with his movements. Germany showed us what Hakimi can do, but it doesn't mean he will do it all the time in any situation against any team-- not yet.

His instincts around goal are incredible. We should absolutely be molding our tactics to exploit that to the maximum.

he's 22 or something - would be a surprise if he would be a complete footballer yet
sure happy he's with us i have to say

Absolutely. I don't mean to sound hyper critical of him; I just want him to reach that next level. He's got plenty of time to do it.

I'm not talking about his defensive short comings, I'm talking about his offense. Everyone knows Hakimi can't defend for shit but he was/is an attacking monster. And while he should look to improve his overall game, it shouldn't prevent Conte from, as you put it, "molding our tactics to exploit" his pace and attacking nous which Hakimi has in abundance. With two strikers two aim for I predicted double digit assists for Hakimi this season. But seeing Hakimi pinned to the right wing and launching crosses to the corner flag has me thinking otherwise.

You want Hakimi to succeed at Inter, partner him with passer who can send him on overlapping runs and watch the goals pile up.

this is the kind of player that wins you trophies, not the generic trash we used to have.

very impactful game from Hakimi tonight. some great runnings. his outburst of pace is just insane. he could have 3 assists to be honest.

Well just have to invest more in attack, especially somebody to help Lukaku have a breather here and there. Our attack is good, but it's not great.

Our next transfer objective should be to find a "Hakimi" for the left wing

With our correct state of left side, even bring back dimarco will be improvment, that how bad we fucked at left side...

What a player. Should have gifted the third goal to himself rather than to Big Rom.

This guy has so much quality that I'm actually surprised Conte lets him play.

Should have taken that last chance himself. Pity Lukaku ruined it. Incredible speed and stamina.

Young's conditioning is actually excellent for a 35 year old full back. By comparison he makes Kolarov look like the grey-haired 60 year old he is. After his surprisingly good performances last season he looks to be losing a bit of sharpness but that's hardly uncommon among 35 year old players. Just a general decline more than anything.
