You saw this a lot with China in the 2010s. The players who left for China and returned to Europe never accomplished anything, including the spaz Arnautovic. El Shaa is the only one I can think of who even returned to his NT.
Paulinho was quite good for Barca in the one season he played there after going to China the first time, one of their best players in the double winning season. He also returned to the NT after being left out in 2015.

It was always such an incredible waste he went to china in the first place though.

But money talks, especially for southamericans.

It`s more than just interest, Inter are physically courting Paz. He was invited to Zanetti`s foundation meeting

Inter director meets Paz in Como

Paz and Inter director Piero Ausilio were both in attendance at a dinner for the recent PUPI Foundation event in Como, where several informal jokes were made about Inter signing the young Argentine in the future, according to Sport Mediaset.

Even if Real Madrid are unlikely to use Paz in their first team at the moment, they are able to sign him back for €12m [until 2027] and then sell him on to another club for a greater profit.
Wonder how much will Real ask for him. I approve this player, he has the eyes of Cambiasso.

Madrid has a very modest buyback clause on Paz.

Los Blancos sold Paz to Como on a permanent basis during the summer, but secured a buyback agreement as part of the deal.

And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, an insight into the financial terms of as much has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo, who has confirmed that, if Real move to bring their former starlet back next summer, it will cost them €9 million.

A year later, in 2026, this figure rises to €10 million, and in 2027 it will stand at €11 million.

As I think I've written before, it's not been beyond Madrid to exercise those buybacks and then sell for a higher price themselves. Omar Mascarell had a €4M buyback when he was at Frankfurt, Madrid activated that and then turned back around and sold him to Schalke for €10M. Paz has a much higher profile right now than Mascarell did, and there's a decent chance Madrid could actually have a use for Paz at some point in the next season or two.

Also worth noting that, best as I can tell, he's most often been used as a #10 at Como. Our formation doesn't really have that position. But I'm open to being more informed on this topic.

According to reports from Germany, Inter are interested in 20-year old Gladbach midfielder Rocco Reitz. He has a 20m release clause tthat becomes valid in 2026.

I've never quite liked Verratti's whiny attitude on the pitch. And to me he takes too big risks with the ball given his position. I think we are fine in midfield.
+1

We haven't had a good dribbler who can quickly take the ball to the opponent's field or a creative player who can break the resistance of opponents who park buses in front of their own goal for years. On the other hand, our club management is stubbornly transferring central midfielders. Maybe the club managers are stupid, but I cannot accept the stupidity of our fans.

Kinda like Endo, he’s out of Slot’s plan, would come here cheap but not fitting age policy

Toni Kroos never played in Serie A, but he admitted that Italian sides were interested in him while he was in Madrid.
“There was interest from Serie A clubs when I was playing in Spain, but I never thought about leaving the Blancos,” he said.
“I’ve always liked Italian football, but Real is Real.”

Is there an Italian club where he’d like to play if he had not retired?
“It’s hard to pick one as I don’t know the environments internally, but right now, I wouldn’t see myself badly at Inter,” he admitted.
They play with confidence and calm, trying to dominate proceedings; they are really strong.”

Too bad he doesn`t fit the Oaktree project, eh? 😁

There were many rumours about Juventus in the past.

And not with Switzerland. I think he's too offensively minded, more wing forward than wingback. And indeed in Italy hasn't played any kind of role requiring much defensive attention (relatively, all positions require some of that these days, specially in Italy).

Then, if the reports are true Inzaghi likes him, he must see something there.
