It's easy to make Castro work within the current budget. Arnautovich and Correa leaving immediately frees up 24.7m euros, so assuming for simplicity a straight cash deal for Castro around 30m euros and a wage of 3m for a 5 year contract, you would only be putting 9m euros back onto the squad cost for next year.
Our two non-performing forwards account for 12% of the annual squad costs, so when you see those figures you can understand why it was hard to do anything in January while they remained. If we can sell Frattesi for around what we paid for him then we add back another 12.4m euros into the budget profit on what we have amortised, plus this frees up another 5m euros or so for his wages.
