He’s also on youth drug, he doesn’t want old men.

The thing is, Chelsea may be full on embracing their human trafficking of teenage South Americans era, but they aren't totally cheaping with it. They have €15M earmarked for an Ecuadorian. Estêvão will cost a hefty price if he hits his add-ons. So on and so forth. We're haggling over a single digit transfer fee of someone now in their 20s playing at a club nobody's ever heard of before (it's NOT the Independiente that Zanetti grew up a fan of). That's not to say great talents can't be found from unexpected places, it's not me trying to indict Palacios, I've even endorsed an approach that would lean more heavily into the South American market, it's to say that if this is going to be a strategy, it needs to be done under a serious lens. I'm entirely unconvinced Oaktree are willing to put in the investment required to make such an approach successful. For fucks sake, we nickel and dimed over Bento and in the end he transferred to a Saudi club for marginally more than the entirely unconvincing goalkeeper we signed from Genoa.

oak tree might be able to find a hidden gem in defense but if they think they’re gonna get a 5 million hidden gem under 25 forward they’re on the finest of crack. The worst part of this all is we have one of the most well known and recognized directors in all of football and even he can’t break these Oaktree assholes. Oaktree were willing to toss away 30 mil on a possibly convicted rapist if Correa left. Watch Correa leave and that 30 mil will be poof gone. Just like post Covid under Zhang. Thank god for our pre Covid business under Zhang and Suning because that and free transfers are keeping this shit show alive.

Oaktree gave Marotta a ceremonial promotion to club president, said they were entrusting him with the day-to-day operations of the club, only for them to knee cap every move he tries to make.

Bento agent said it wasn't a matter of cost. It was a tactical decision of Inzaghi.

And I don’t know why his agent would lie about this— it doesn’t make his client look any better.

Fact is that if Bento ends up being a much better keeper than we have Inzaghi to blame for it. It’s really that simple.

No one will know if Bento would've been better because nobody watches the Saudi league.

We’ll never know if Bento would have worked out here. But if Martinez doesn’t he’s officially 0-2 after Correa. And if that’s the case we should never listen to him again.

Correa wasn't Inzaghi signing how you portrait it. He was like 3rd choice max.

Also you make it sounds like there have been no other signings which Inzaghi wanted.

True. That being said; Inzaghi worked with the guy, Correa is utter thrash, so he should have known he wasn’t Inter material. One way or another, Inzaghi is to blame for Correa. Not the only one to blame tho.

I would put equal blame to everyone involved, management, coach and the player himself aswell.

Equal blame doesn't exist at all in any business. Postman loses one package then the accountant should be fired too?

People must find one with biggest responsibility to discuss.

He was more of a second choice after the club choose Thuram. And it was reported Inzaghi was in favor of Correa move.

We know Inzaghi doesn’t ultimately make the signings, Marotta and Ausilio have to take some blame too. I guess we can say he’s 1-2 if you count Acerbi.

He was a panic buy, mostly influenced by Inzaghi. If we had a different coach, Correa wouldn't have been an option whatsoever.

Our transfer window is so boring we're arguing over the coaches choice on a reserve GK in the forwards forum. Unbelievable summer from the fellas over at Oaktree.

Reserve GK is Audero and nobody was giving a second of thought. The problem is Martinez is bought for a long term starting. And we lose other much better choices in the meantime.

Third choice, Zapata was between those two.

Didn't differ from summers with Zhang. No net spending. Just like for example last summer when we spent a lot (on paper), we also sold a lot. Now we didn't sell, so we didn't buy.

Of course more older free agents could have come in, so in that respect Oaktree played a part here.

We had not really had a true net spending ever since the pandemic, basically we are on a very large profit if we look at that time period.

Also our team is just more complete now then the past summers and we fixed the main issue already 6 months ago by finding replacement in the two bosman deals…

The lack of this team is mainly for the future and strength of the bench.. our starting 11 is at large good enough for our objectives.

Zapata wasnt going to come to be on the bench tho he also is like a 10-12 goal a season striker. we needed someone much better for 30m and was much older.

Yes, we needed better than Correa aswell. That was not the point here. Point was Correa was only our 3rd choice and not some specific request by Inzaghi. Technically he was 4th choice since we tried for Vlahovic aswell but Commisso wasn't selling in that summer (and price ended up being a lot higher in January than what we offered)

Unless a wonder kid pops up in World Cup qualifiers and is cheap. I just don’t see us getting anyone. Anyone worth a damn and teams needed reinforcements you usually end up greatly over paying

Unless we recall a striker I just dont see us getting anyone.

Do we have more non eu spots in case if it’s not a kid from a grandma is magically Italian country. That’s the only way we can afford them. If we Peru or Venezuela or Honduras magically has a world class player appear in the next 2-3 months

A no one from Argentina cost 6-11 million so that’s out of our budget
