I think that we are just solving this issue by buying a left-footed defender(maybe Olivier Boscagli), when Acerbi retire next year, we will get another left-footed defender and Bastoni will move to the center?

I don't think Zhangs liked old players either. This is Inter's philosophy under Marotta's regime, and Zhangs were all behind his decisions.

Zhang was fine as long as the finance were in check and the team performed. I never got the impression age was an all important factor for them for individual players, it was more the team had to have a balanced average age but that was mostly in the beginning until they where hit financially.

Oaktree however seem to very clearly push on investment ideology, which is very different approach to that of Zhang, that mostly pushed player sales due to their own financial woes

What do you mean by this?

Are you saying Oaktree is going to financially support Inter more than Zhangs did? Because Zhangs supported the club financially, by different means, in later years with that famous Oaktree loan. But club still made such huge deficits that player sales had to be done to reduce these deficits.

Investment ideology as in players need to be bought with future sales potential. It’s generally how such companies like to view stuff, players are investment, investment that can be sold on with profit, hence the buy cheap sell expensive idea.

The only funds Oaktree is ever going to toss into the club is to clear out loans obligations

They didn't bring anyone with a sports function/knowledge within the board of directors as far as i know to lead the strategy.

So who would be this "Oaktree" persona that is saying don't buy old players but buy young ones. All "Oaktree" can do is put a target ( which probably is a financial target) and the president elected by Oaktree ( Marotta) would need to reach that target

So if the target is decrease Opex/Capex than Marotta is the one that needs to transform that financial target into a sports direction
If the target is make Inter the best club of the world than again Marotta would be responsible to achieve that.
i don't see how Oaktree would come and say make the roster younger. They wouldn't track that in their KPIs

So for me the statement Oaktree wants to invest on youth more than Zhangs has no roots.
This clubs strategy is set by Marotta , and his strategy has historically been to find opportunities on expiring contracts ( both old and young ) and increase the depth of italian players in the roster and we have clearly seen this happen for Inter both under Zhang and now Oaktree.

After checking Nantes forum I really hope we stay away from that guy. Most of the posts say that player hasn't really showed anything so far, they would sell him even for 5m (rumored offer from Marseille) and they can't believe there's a club offering 15m for him.

i think the squad need a new WB/RB, a WB which can play at the both sides, not a CB. Buchanan injury made that side isn't really strong enough.

He's probably there to discuss with Juve. Milan have already signed a left footed cb and it's been clear he doesn't fit Oaktree requirements.
