I feel like Marotta wants to keep a certain number of Italians in the team. That might push someone else forward as a potential sale candidate. Or perhaps Zielinksi would replace Mkhi and Frattesi would replace Barella in the midfield. That’s an overall downgrade but that’s what we seem to do a lot these days.

Unless he cuts ties with his father (career wise) there's no chance Marotta will make a move for Samardzic again

We're linked to Colpani as well. Eager to dribble past the opponents and has a cannon of a left foot.

Samardzic is wanted by merda now that both Pogba and Fagioli are suspended.

Thiago Alcantara is set to leave Liverpool next summer and has reportedly attracted attention from both Inter and Jubentus
The 32-year-old midfielder, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s side from Bayern Munich in September 2020, has entered the last year of his contract with the Reds, who are not planning to offer a new deal.

Thiago, who was born in Puglia, has not played a single minute this term after suffering a hip injury back in April. He is expected to return to action in January, almost eight months after suffering the issue.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Thiago is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer next summer and both Inter and Juventus are interested in making a move for the midfielder.

The Nerazzurri have already reportedly offered him a two-year contract, with a salary far lower than the €12m net per season that he currently earns in the Premier League.

Juventus are considering making a move next summer, but the two Serie A clubs are not alone in their interest, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and the MLS also keeping tabs on the 32-year-old.
Daily Mail is a really poor source (clubs are not even allowed to offer contract at this point), however I can see another free transfer for the midfield.

Given his serie A experience, Zielinski has a bigger chance to join IMO.

oh shit too late for Thiago now. Would have been great some time ago, anyhow Limone has this fetish with old players so it's possible.

I'm not sure how would Colpani fit in our system, otherwise I admire his footballing ability. The guy is very intelligent.

He reminds me a bit of Ilicic in style of play.

He plays on the right, and we have already Frattesi and Barella there. But I've read that Monza want 20mlm for him, which is relatively cheap on today's market.

Colpani has 6 goals already this season which is quite good. He looks technically very good, although I'm not sure where he fits in our team. He's not really a midfielder although Inzaghi could possibly work to have him fit into that role. He could play as a 2nd striker if needed as well, although in a much different way that Thuram plays obviously.

It’s true and a valid point that Colpani doesn’t really have a natural position in this squad, but he does have qualities we need in a player— mainly having pace and being able to dribble at defenders. The only players we have like that are Thuram and maybe Cuadrado (lol). I think he’s basically our plan B to Samardzic. Samardzic didn’t have a natural role in our formation but we still wanted him. Colpani has the added benefit of being tall, strong, and an Italian playing for a serie A club. Plus it would be easier to pull off because of our relationship with Monza. My guess is that we would want to deploy him as some sort of hybrid support striker/ attacking midfielder, similar to what we attempt (and mostly fail) to do with Sanchez.

Should we have 20m to burn I'd rather put some on top for a new striker. Considering we will have peanuts resource.

Our depth there next year is terrible.
