We're at a position where any purchase is a risk. The only player we're linked to and can potentially get who is not a risk is probably Morata - because he has a decade of experience, has played in Serie A, and has big club experience. So with him, you know exactly what you get - around 15 goals per season, a number of assists, lots of missed chances and periods of inconsistency, but also someone who can step up against big teams.

Not that I want to go with Morata, but he's the only one that ticks those boxes: Serie A experience/big-club experience/general consistency in terms of number of goals and assists you're going to get from him over a season.

Any of Scamacca/Balogun/Beto would bring risk, whether that's injury history, adjusting to a new league/big club, or just a potential lack of quality.

I've seen a lot of posts about Inzaghi needing a big target man and a guy like Beto potentially fitting in that, but I'm not sure sure Inzaghi actually needs a big, physical targetman. According to most rumours, after the Lukaku deal fell off, it was reported that Inzaghi's main choice is Morata, not Scamacca or Balogun or Beto. Morata does not play like a targetman and even though he's fairly tall, he's actually very weak in physical duels (similar to someone like Vlahovic who is also tall but falls over constantly). Inzaghi also played Correa/Immobile and I believe even Felipe Anderson/Immobile at Lazio so I don't think this is a neccessity.

Going back to Beto - to me, he is purely a counter-attack striker. I think he's really poor in possession and I can only see him being beneficial for us in certain games. I just don't think he fits well in our tactical set-up at all. Also his price is around 30 million? At that point, if we're shopping in Serie A, I'd rather take Dia over Beto.

I also don't see why Balogun's size is such a big issue. From what I understand, his biggest tools are good pace combined with good movement. I'm not saying that he would be a sure success in Serie A, but I just don't see why him being 178cm would be that huge of an issue in this league.

Then call it a day and go all in on Carboni.

I mean it’s the 5th rotation this what we want for a youth product game time where possible and it saves the cash for the positions we are in urgent need of Defence and Goalkeeper.

Carboni isn't ready yet to play for us, while Balogun is.

Carboni is 18 years old, is simply not physically or mentally ready for that yet and he needs playing time.

It is way to big a step, why some of is want to see a B or U23 team. As we don’t have it you need to sell these talent with buy back clause.

Loaning them out is pointless, but we can hope he actually have the mental strength for it and Monza will actually use him more then 4 games.

I don´t see club spending big on a 4th striker even after Correa sale. So, if Beto is not a 3rd option we won´t go for him as a 4th.

If Balogun or some that kind of player is 3rd, then bring better Zapata/Nzola as a 4th option.

If some targetman is brought for a 3rd option then bring Sanchez as a 4th option or just give the chance to Esposito.

Nice comparison table. Small nitpick, is Beto total annual cost correct? If his gross wage is around 5.6m, shouldn't the total cost be 11.6m with the 5m amortization cost?

Also Morata net wage is 5.5m so it's around 10m gross. It's very expensive.

Wow I thought Firmino is like 34, and so cheap, shame we didn't snatch him, love his style. The only player on that list that's truly exciting for me
