None of those guys scored that tally in a top league before, Sørloth had failed in basically all major league he ever sat foot in, he came from 12 goal season in Socidad the first and only time he showed just a little, the previous he made 4! That’s why Inter and others had no interest in the lad because he had previously not shown much. Dovbyk never sat foot in a major legue at that point, he only showed something at that point in a league in a war plagued country and in the Danish league for 6 months.

Such would go completely unnoticed and be of no interest to teams like Inter

By your logic, no players from lower leagues would ever make it to the big ones and to the big teams, since they all "would go completely unnoticed and be of no interest to teams like Inter".

Its called scouting, recognizing talent and transfer risk assessment. All things Inter suck at, hence why they take the "old and experienced" route more often than not. You dont need to be a scouting talent guru to take that road.

Getting two old and experienced 3rd/4th forwards last summer was always a terrible idea. Sanchez made sense, Arnautovic did not in any universe make sense and was always going to be a waste of money with no return value.

Ahh yes the amazing Ukraine league in a war ridden country, where has he shown anything besides that. Clearly such an amazing talent that first started to score at age 25 in a third rank league and that is being incredibly polite these days.

He is not a talent, he doesn’t even qualify for that definition, unless we start calling 26 year old talents.

Scouting is about development prospects not fully matured players who up til then has shown nothing in a league of note…

Of course no big team is spending on a player that age, who has yet to leave a third rank league, they spend on players that either are an actual development prospect or one who has experience in a top tier league, he is neither of those things.

If anything they need as an option a Dybala figure who can drop between the lines and link midfield and attack better, the role that Alexis Sanchez was trying to do this season.

Hahaha, this "agents" are out of control. They did nothing, but always want a large cut. The players training all season, sweating, injured but this agents knock every opportunity to ask for contract improvement or a transfer so they can get more agent fee.
Suddenly what Marotta says back then were actually make sense.
