According to reports, they can't find his birth certificate as stated by the player. The Ecuadorian Federation says Fifa should sanction the player and not the team. Sounds like there's some smoke on this, interesting to see what Fifa ruling will be.

He started in 7 of the 8 qualifying matches in 2022. He played 600+ minutes had one assist and 3 yellows. His assist was against Bolivia, against Chile he started one match and played 30min in the other.

Yea the brother was 7 years older just odd they both had the same first name haha that’s why it sounds sketchy.

Either way just nationalize the guy or go hey you can’t go to the WC. Or ban him like they did Cardona of Colombia for doing the Asian eye gesture in a friendly against korea

His fifa ban was 4 games including the friendlies prior to the WC our coach just decided to not take him to Russia

chile tied and lost. So 5 points lost

just seems insane for chile to leap frog 3 teams.

Also the Italy is best fifa rated team to not make it so maybe they will be in instead of Iran or Ecuador just seems like fifa adding the teams they want to add.

Italy deserves to be there, they won the euro that should automatically qualify them, they didnt even lose a game in qualifying only ties.

Yes they should reformat the tournament, there is still time to expand.

We already have 1/2 the team make it . Only teams 10 and 4.5 go. I don't get why they don't go against North America instead of Asia.

I would say we have too many spots but South America + all the americas should qualify together especially now that US/Canada don't completely suck.

Give the Americas 8 spots

5 direct SA + 3 Direct NA spots

Honduras, Costa Rica, the other Central Americans teams don't deserve to qualify

Direct basically each time - Brazil, Argentina
Should always Qualify Mexico, US (these D-bags will make all the teams play during a blizzard)

Making qualifiers be less of a Joke for US/Mexico will stop them from calling up 16 years olds from other countries and wait till the end to try to qualify. You can go to Bolivia with a U20.

Italy didn't qualify and shouldn't participate unless an UEFA country needs to be replaced.

The Fifa rankings argument just screams hypocrisy. If the roles were reversed, there wouldn't be even a discussion. Just imagine a scenario with Mexico (Italy), Netherlands (Ecuador), and Germany (Peru). No way people would even entertain Mexico taking Netherlands' place instead of Germany.

Colombia wants the spot as well since the fifa rating argument think we are the next best team per the rankings and actually part of SA. We also finished ahead of chile and have a better 1 v1 record against them. Tho Ecuador completely raped us 6-1 in Ecuador.

I just think it’s funny the same coach eliminated both chile and Colombia. Also the same coach eliminated Colombia and Egypt in 1 qualifier

The spot should be Ecuadors any attempt to bring in another country is just fifa wanting “star “ players to make it when they didn’t qualify.

The difference in points between Ecuador and Colombia/chile is insane. + the goal difference.

Ecuador was the 3rd best team in qualifiers and this bs just has gone way too far with people sad their teams didn’t qualify trying anything to sue to get them in.
