Ive watched quite a few Liverpool games over the last 3-4 years (Klopp era essentially) and Origi has truly found his position in that team as a true super-sub. I don’t know if it’s because his movements are so much different than Firmino’s, but it’s like opponent defences just forget about him when he’s on the pitch.

He’s a good instinctive finisher, and doesn’t seem to hate having the ball at his feet. I like him, but he’s not a starter by any means, and it could be the case of another Klopp system overperformance.

Yeah, I'm starting to like Origi more than Batshuayi, who I always thought was one of the better supersubs out there. I don't think we have a chance to land Origi unless if we promise him a starting position, which I doubt.

We'll just have to go with somebody from Serie A, I guess.

Erling Braut Håland

What’s everybody’s thoughts on bringing in Mertens for 2-3 years?

His contract ends with Napoli and there’s talk of him moving to China.

I’ve always been a big fan of his - sure he is 32 I think but he’s still an animal scoring and creating and would be an awesome rotation player in the same vein as Alexis Sanchez
I love his creativity so I`m in, as long as he accepts a squad rotation role. I would offer him a contract, he deserves it.

I am almost kind of starting to want him to come to Inter for 6 months. Marketing wise it would be great move, while he might help the team.
Ibra is looking for an 18 month contract. If he was accepting a 6 months deal, he would have already signed for Napoli.

Erling Braut Håland is the real deal indeed, but I think his priority is to play in the EPL.
I think we can buy him in January for 40m. It's gonna become a bidding war in the summer but other than City and potentially Liverpool, I do not see another threat and neither can offer him guaranteed playing time due to their system. There's also Bayern but I doubt they'll spend so much in January.

He'd never move to Man Utd, London clubs are not appealing
My 2 cents:
1. Why would he move/sign in January when he would have a plethora of clubs to chose from in the summer? Not everyone is Barella you know ;)
2. Did you talk to him regarding the bold part, or where do you get this sharp info from? I`ve actually read that he was born in Leeds (UK) and stated “I want to be the best. The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.”

Timo Werner's buyout clause is just €31m. Vice Lukaku perhaps?

He wont accept to be vice anyone. Not expensive and i'd like to see it, considering his hype and all (havent seen him enough to build an opinion).

Not yet convinced that Werner has what it takes to be a big fish in a big pond. Right now he's essentially like Immobile at Lazio or even was Icardi for us - the talisman of a "top 4" team, but not a leading striker at a legitimate title contender. Maybe this is the season he takes that next step.

And yea, considering his profile and age, why should he move somewhere he's not guaranteed to be first choice?

Until brehme returns with a reply let me add to my post:

3. Why would Red Bull Salzburg sell during the winter? They can start a bidding war in summer. Press already slapped 100m price-tag on Håland :yao: Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd are all clubs that can buy him.

Haaland distanced himself from joining the Italian recently.

He is pushing for a move to Man City.

Salzburg can wait, but if we offer a buy now + loan back for end of season kind of deal and the kid wants to guarantee that he'll have a future big contract (his dad may push him for that since he got it bad with an infamous injury) the player may want to pursue a transfer.

But I'm certain that he'll end up at Man City by the end of summer. It's the move that clicks the most for him.

According to GdS, Mertens won't renew his contract with Napoli and he doesn't want to go to China. His agent has offered him to Inter and Dortmund but there's nothing more than that so far.

There is for sure a realsitic chance. Mertens will not stay there, he want's to win something before ending he's career.

If he accepts 2-year deal, I'm all for it. Good Sanchez replacement for free. We have most probably zero interest actually using some real money for Sanchez.

LOl. It can't hurt to have more of them since Conte doesn't seem to mind. I think he would be better and more reliable than Sanshite.
